In Big Brother 8 Episode 24, Eric had the chance to step up and make a game changing move by backdooring Danielle, but much to the chagrin of Jessica and the rest of the house, he left the nominations the same. It appears he may have been trying to get America to like him by getting rid of Amber, and the way he’s playing, he’d better hope more of America find him and Jessica cute rather than nauseating, at least in large enough numbers to overcome Dick’s popularity. So tonight’s boot will either be Amber or Zach. I can see pros and cons to both, but I suspect it’s time for Amber’s final tears of the season. There is some speculation that tonight we may see a double eviction week, since there are two weeks left and 6 players after the next eviction. Find out in another live blog.
Jessica starts crying after the veto ceremony because she’s getting rid of someone who likes her, rather than Dick and Danielle who have no use for her. Zach and Amber both start scrambling, but most people’s minds are already made up. Amber swears on her daughter’s life (again and again and again) for a Danielle vote. She also makes some accurate arguments to Jessica about Eric, but it doesn’t take much time for Eric to reverse this damage. Zach promises Dick he’s with him, though it’s unclear where his loyalties actually are.
America wants Amber evicted by a margin of 78%.
Eric’s brother acknowledges that he isn’t dating Cheryl (perhaps because she rejected him three weeks before they went into the house).
It’s time to vote.
Jameka-Zach
Eric-Amber
Dick-Amber
Danielle-Amber
By a vote of 3-1, Amber has been evicted from the house.
It’s time for HOH. This is Jameka’s fourth week of five of not being able to compete. The challenge is to move a large volume of tea with a teacup from one side to another. The cups hold 3 ounces of tea, and it takes 16 gallons to fill the tanks. The distance is equivalent to 7 miles, assuming they have a full cup each time. Yep, this will take quite some time. To make matters worse, the addition of corn oil and baby oil should make things a lot more slippery (and dangerous), though it may also help them go faster.

As expected, this is a double eviction week. There will be a double live eviction next Thursday, with a cameo appearance by Janelle on Tuesday’s veto competition.
