On Big Brother 8 episode 15, Jen pulled herself off the block after winning veto, and Eric was nominated in her place as planned. Dick and Danielle scrambled to get the votes to make an Eric eviction happen, including plotting to join their fiercest enemies, Kail and Jen. Tonight is eviction night. Did they get the 4 votes they need?
Kail is concerned because Eric has no real enemies except for D&D. Eric, who’s been pretty much liked by everybody thus far, proceeds to threaten (to Dick of all people) to tell everyone about a story Amber told him about how she lied about being pregnant to her boyfriend twice, while on drugs. Not a good move. Way too aggressive and desperate. Amber used the overused reality TV phrase of swearing on someone’s life when promising not to vote for Eric, which puts her in a position where she wants to vote for him but doesn’t want to go back on her word. She then confronts Dustin and asks him to vote out Eric for her, and explodes about it in front of the entire house (an excellent way to ensure the dirty laundry is aired to all of America). In exchange for a vote from Dustin and/or Amber, Dick promises a one week deal where neither pair will go after the other, which means Dustin/Amber would be in the position of putting their allies in danger, up to and including potentially nominating one of them (or just lying and putting up Dick/Danielle anyway), in addition to seriously shifting the balance of power in the house.
In her HOH interview, Danielle says that living in the house with her father is difficult but slowly improving. She also tells Julie that whether she’s right or wrong about Eric being the one who cast the stray votes, she’s okay either way because she knows he’s the biggest threat.
It’s time to vote…
Dick-Eric
Jen-Eric
Jessica-Kail
Zach-Eric
Jameka-Kail
Dustin-Kail
Amber-Kail
By a vote of 4-3, Kail has been evicted from the Big Brother house. Eric got lucky that it just didn’t make any sense to boot him. Dustin then tells Dick he voted Eric out because they had a deal. Dun dun dun.
Kail becomes the first person to walk out the door in a bunny suit. She says she doesn’t believe Dick’s attitude is all about strategy because he kept it up for 6 weeks. All the houseguests have pretty positive things to say in their goodbye messages.
The HOH competition is Let’s Make A Duel, which is about what evicted houseguests have said in the diary room. Jameka is not allowed to compete because of the veto competition. Danielle picks Dustin and Eric as the first pair.
Eric buzzes in correctly. Dustin is eliminated. Eric selects Dick and Zach.
Zach buzzes in incorrectly. He is eliminated. Dick selects Eric and Jessica.
Julie screws up the first question, giving the (obvious) answer, and preventing Eric from answering.
Jessica gets the followup question correct. Eric is eliminated. Jessica selects Jen and Dick.
Dick buzzes in incorrectly. He is eliminated. Jen selects Jessica and Amber.
Amber buzzes in incorrectly. She is eliminated.
Jessica answers correctly. Jen is eliminated. Jessica is the new HOH.
Jessica’s sitting pretty. I don’t know whether the HOH win helps her any, but once it was down to her and Jen, she had no choice but to take it. Dick and Danielle made their own bed, with the assistance of a banner ironically intended to help them, and are the likely targets this week. It appears one of them’s pretty much guaranteed to be gone.
