The X Factor auditions kick off this coming weekend on Sunday March 27. 6 audition cities are currently planned:
Chicago – April 27
Dallas – May 26
Los Angeles – March 27
Miami – April 7
New York City/New Jersey – April 14
Seattle – April 20
Contestants can audition either solo or in a group in this competition for TV’s biggest prize, a $5 million recording contract.

The first The X Factor judge is not named Paula. Dodged a bullet there for now. Antonio “L.A.” Reid will be joining Simon Cowell on the judging panel of the new singing competition.

The X Factor, a singing show similar to American Idol that’s already a success in the UK, will be coming to Fox in 2011 with Simon Cowell serving as judge and executive producer.
