DeAnna and Jesse Break Up

As desperate as they seemed to get married just for the sake of getting married following The Bachelorette 4, I was expecting this one to stick until their rushed wedding was over. In an interview with Extra, Jesse Csincsak revealed that DeAnna Pappas broke up with him.

He told the show, “We took time apart… She came back to Colorado and told me, ‘I love you, but I’m not in love with you.’ …I picked her up from the airport and she told me while I was getting her bags.”

“I love that woman. She is an amazing person. I am willing to work through it. I love her… I love the way she made me feel. She made me feel like no other,” he continued. “DeAnna said, ‘I’m not willing to try anymore.’ She had a different idea. I can’t argue with her feelings… She’s the only one who knows how she feels.”

He wonders if the relationship was just an attempt to get publicity. “The only time she was touchy feely with me was around the cameras.”

Still, he wishes he had a second chance like runner up Jason Mesnick. “I really envy Jason’s position right now… It’s an amazing show… You could go and fall in love. I would love the opportunity to fall in love again.”

Jason Mesnick Is The Bachelor 13

Following his rejection by DeAnna after having almost proposed to her in the finale of The Bachelorette 4, Jason Mesnick became the obvious choice for the next season of The Bachelor. It should come as no surprise to a lot of of people that he has indeed been selected as the choice for The Bachelor 13. The show will air in January 2009, and ABC is currently searching for women who want a shot with him.

Matt and Shayne Break Up

This story should surprise one or two people. Matt Grant and Shayne Lamas from The Bachelor 12 have officially called off their engagement and announced an end to their relationship.

“We tried hard to make it work but we realized that we were both heading in different directions,” the two said in a statement to People. “We truly care about each other and will remain close friends.”

Neither would elaborate beyond that, but we all pretty much saw this coming 152 miles away.

The Bachelorette 4 Episode 11

Now that we’ve found out who The Bachelorette 4 winner, it’s time to hear from the guys after the final rose.

Jason’s confused by what happened, as he never saw it coming. Unlike Jesse, who was full of doubt, Jason was so sure it was going to be him. He was shocked she let him get down on his knee. Even after all that’s happened, he still has feelings for DeAnna. Hopefully he won’t beg her to reconsider like she did with Brad, though.

It’s time to reunite him with DeAnna for a rumble. She realizes that she made him feel like she felt, which was something she was trying to avoid from the beginning, and she apologizes for hurting him. She tells him she picked Jesse on the final morning. He doesn’t have a question about whether it was about his son, but she wants him to know that it wasn’t about that. After sounding like a broken record all season about Brad, she’s now got more compassion for him after having seen what he went through. Jason doesn’t get why she never looked at him the same way she looked at Jesse (and Graham… Jesse’s apparently still trying to figure this part out, too). She was falling in love with Jason, but she was never in love with him. With this experience behind him, Jason has learned that he can love again, and I’m thinking we may be looking at our next The Bachelor here.

Matt and Shayne are back and still together to the surprise of many. Like DeAnna, he’s fallen in love with a completely different type of person than he would have expected. He’s almost killed her 5 times (in traffic they claim). She tells us not to believe everything we read. The proposal has nothing to do with a green card, and they’re still engaged. They plan to travel, or at least that’s what she tells him.

DeAnna says that she and Jesse will be friends with Jason for a long time. She felt that Jesse was the only man she could not live without. After a few minutes of working on convincing us not to judge Jesse by his exterior, for the first time in public, the engaged couple is together. Both of them were originally not expecting to fall in love with each other, but they’re happy they have gotten past those initial fears. DeAnna’s father says he predicted that she already knew she was going to be with Jesse.

They’ve set a date for the wedding. May 9, 2009 (yeah, we even get a year). The show will be sending them to Greece for their honeymoon. Ignoring the fact that these two are rushing things, is it possible this show will produce a second success story? Then again, perhaps that’s the secret to success. Don’t think. Just do. Whereas every other couple has given it a couple years and gotten sick of each other, these two seem to be in a mad dash down the aisle.

The Bachelor 13 has been confirmed for midseason. Stay tuned to dingoRUE for recaps.

The Bachelorette 4 Winner

In The Bachelorette 4 Episode 9 DeAnna Pappas got over Graham. And decided that she was in love with the other three but not in love with him any more. Apparently. She’s also over Brad. Apparently. (Even though we hear his name every 5 minutes.) Anyway, between the three remaining guys, Jeremy ended up getting the boot, which brings us down to the final two: Jason Mesnik and Jesse Csincsak. Jason struck me as one of the clear frontrunners from the beginning of the season, although I am surprised to see Jesse having made it this far. We found out last week that DeAnna is indeed engaged this time around, so now it’s just a matter of finding out who The Bachelorette 4 winner is.

Now DeAnna will be introducing both guys to her big fat Greek family. She’s warned the boys that her family plans to be mean this time around because of Brad (yeah, I’ve heard his name 5 times in the last 20 seconds). Jason arrives at the house first with flowers for DeAnna and her family. He says that he doesn’t blame them for grilling him, so they might as well just get to it. Her father’s not sure she’s ready to be immediately moving into a family. DeAnna’s sister Chrissy wants to know whether he’s in love and ready to get married, and he says he’s never felt like this, including during his first marriage. Then Jason asks her father for permission to propose, and he gets a response that nobody’s ever asked that before. Her dad gives him his blessing if DeAnna should choose him.

Jesse’s up next. He’s visibly nervous. He got his haircut at least. Her father’s concerned that his pro snowboarding career doesn’t have a great deal more time left in it. Jesse has had a two year relationship in which he lived with his girlfriend, but he says that this is all new to him. DeAnna’s sister immediately liked Jason but doesn’t really get to know anything about Jesse during his time there, which turns out to be three very unproductive hours. Her father’s not so sure that Jesse’s really in love, whereas he feels that Jason was heartfelt.

Day two is no longer just the immediate family. The crowd there will be more than twice the size of yesterday’s. Jesse shows up first. Then Jason shows up. Yeah, who came up with this really stupid idea? Awkward for everybody involved. DeAnna’s grandmother tells Jason she prefers him. Jesse seems to be doing better this time than he did the day before, and he even asks for permission from her father. DeAnna walks the boys to the car, holding hands with both of them at the same time as she’s been doing for much of the day. Jesse wants to make sure he gets the last hug in, so he lets her say goodbye to Jason first. Chrissy is not sure that Jesse’s ready for a commitment. DeAnna’s other sister Crystal prefers Jesse because he’s a free spirit who is not as grown up as Jason (just like DeAnna’s not as grown up as Jason).

A former bachelor’s back. No, not Brad, although that would be interesting. Jeremy has returned to confront DeAnna. He tells her she’s making a big mistake but acknowledges that he hasn’t really let her see him. She says that he’s a perfect guy, but that she just doesn’t love him. Since she’s not in love with him yet, she can’t drag it on any further. It takes some convincing, but he finally takes the hint, although he’s still in love with her.

DeAnna’s got one last set of dates before making her decision. Jesse’s up first, and they take a ride on a seaplane to a secluded island. He’s put together a book of thoughts for her, a photo album that he reads to her, and he wants her to know he’s ready to spend the rest of his life with her. As usual, she doesn’t say anything in return, which she says is because she doesn’t want to mislead anybody. Kinda silly because somebody’s getting misled regardless.

Jason gets the final date, and they will be swimming with the sharks. He loves that she takes him on these crazy adventures (thought of and paid for by ABC). He, too, has a surprise. It’s a boardgame that he’s made himself, which allows them to relive their dates throughout this experience. The game ends in him telling her he loves her and wants to spend the rest of his life with her.

On decision day, as Jason gets down on one knee to propose, DeAnna stops him, saying “No, I can’t.” She’s in love with somebody else. I can’t be alone in saying I’m surprised by that.

We know what happens next. DeAnna will be getting and accepting a proposal from Jesse. For the first time this season, she finally tells someone she’s in love with them, instead of just sitting there nodding.

I’m pretty much just confused by this ending, but it beats what happened on The Bachelor 11.

Next up, we find out what happens after the final rose.

The Bachelorette 4 Episode 9

DeAnna has picked her final two, but before we find out who the winner is, it’s time for the men to tell all. A bunch of guys we don’t know (and some we actually do know) are back.

We start off with the Jeremy hatefest. I’d almost forgotten this portion of the show. Eventually, this comes around to how he was just there to win. He says that, if he came off negatively, it wasn’t intentional but just him trying to deal with the situation the best he could. Ron denies being jealous.

Jeremy still doesn’t know what happened in the Bahamas when he finally got rejected. He says that this is the first time he’s opened himself up like this and is just left with a big empty void, and he still has feelings for her.

Graham’s exit was unexpected, or so we’re told. He feels he made a lot of effort and felt it was unfair of her to blame it all on him. He’s learned a lesson, though. Not real sure what that lesson is, but he’ll take it forward and use it in the future, he’s fairly certain.

DeAnna comes out to answer some questions. Jeremy goes first, and he wants to know when she knew he wasn’t the right guy. Her response is that, after her date with Jason and Jesse, she realized she was already in love with them.

Next up is Graham. She is no longer second guessing her decision, and everything happens for a reason. They’re arguing as usual.

Ryan proves to be quite bitter and doesn’t get why DeAnna got rid of him.

DeAnna’s parting thoughts are that she’s happy, in love, and unlike last time, she’s engaged.

In an unexpected twist, Fred gets asked out by a member of the studio audience and accepts.

The Bachelorette 4 Episode 8

Graham, who’s stuck around for too long, finally got the axe in The Bachelorette 4 Episode 7. At the end of the show, DeAnna said he was the only one she was falling in love with. Yeah, I still don’t get it. Did I blink and miss something?

DeAnna had her heart set on being with Graham, but, well, now that he’s out of the picture, I guess she’ll have to settle for one of these other guys who has to get stuck with her. They’ll all be going to the Bahamas to figure out which of them she’s willing to propose to instead (in a week).

Jeremy wants to let DeAnna know how he feels, but he’s having difficulty expressing himself. She’s picking up on this and fears he’s another Graham. He hopes the romantic dinner setting will improve things. Their very dull conversation doesn’t suggest it is initially, but he finally opens up to the fact that he really does care about her and is afraid to lose her. He tells her he’s fallen in love with her. Her response is that she’s glad that he told her. After dinner, they head to the fantasy suite.

Jason gets the next date. They go off roading in a vehicle with blurred logos, with a destination of a completely secluded picnic. DeAnna’s happy that their talking is not quite so serious as it normally is, and Jason says it finally feels like they’re a couple. At dinner, he tells DeAnna they can talk about both her and Ty if she wants, since they’re the two most important things in his life. He doesn’t have to read the entire fantasy suite card before answering yes. He thanks her for teaching him he can fall in love again. Like Jeremy, he doesn’t get a response to this either, but she tells us she’s falling for him.

DeAnna hopes Jesse is more boyfriend-like on their date than he has been before. They go horseback riding down the beach. Unlike before, he can’t keep his lips off her. They have a discussion about how they both want to start popping out babies right away, they discuss the potential living arrangements (she’s not sure she fits in to his snowboarding lifestyle), and then he tells her he’s falling for her. The statement he made that he doesn’t know if he can share a fantasy suite with her until he meets her dad (that they played again and again throughout the whole episode) turns out to just be a joke, and so they do indeed get a room. She’s happy to have seen his romantic side for a change.

DeAnna tells us that now she’s falling in love with everybody, whereas before she could only think of Graham for some unknown reason.

Roses
Jesse
Jason

Can’t say I called that one. I’m sure I’m not the only one surprised by Jesse being one of the final two. She tells Jeremy he’s perfect, and she’s stupid. Afraid of confusing the bond over the fact that their parents died for romantic feelings, she has decided to let him go. He tells her he’s in love with her. Then it’s time for him to go. He doesn’t want to lose another person that he loves.
