Big Brother 18 Episode 14

Corey won the power of veto and saved himself in Big Brother 18 Episode 13, and Da’Vonne finally talked herself into a corner and was nominated alongside Tiffany and Natalie.

This could go either way. As with last week, Tiffany is the more dangerous player and probably should go, but Da’Vonne is playing hard, if not necessarily well.

Tiffany continues to just tell the truth about Da’Vonne’s alliances. Her new best friend Frank joins her and tries to get the guys onboard and wants them to believe Da’Vonne is more loyal to the girls.

Da’Vonne tells James she wants to go after the showmances. Apparently, she has not noticed him with Natalie.

Why is Paulie trying to look like Paul? First the beard, now he’s shaved half his head.

She went down swinging, but by a vote of 8-0, Tiffany has been evicted from the Big Brother house. That should have been the result last week, but because it wasn’t, some of them managed to do a stupid amount of unnecessary damage to themselves.

Why does everybody this season keep saying “your boy”? Nobody even likes any of the people who say it.

The team twist is dead, as is the Roadkill competition.

Big Brother 18 Episode 13

After the house was forced to realize that the plan to screw over Frank was dumb, round two of the campaign to get rid of Tiffany began in Big Brother 18 Episode 12 as Paulie nominated her against Natalie. Then Tiffany won the Roadkill competition after much crying and nominated Corey.

Corey assumes Frank won the competition and nominated him and further assumes that Tiffany couldn’t have possibly won.

It’s not clear exactly where James stands. Tiffany tells him he’s low on the totem pole, but really he seems reasonably situated somewhere in the middle.

Da’Vonne decides to humor Frank and listen to him, which leads to the boys claiming she is conspiring with him for having the nerve to talk to him.

Da’Vonne is selected at random to participate in the veto competition. Paul is chosen as well. They join Paulie, Tiffany, Natalie, and Corey.

The competition requires them to challenge each other to battles in which they have to transfer ice cream scoops one at a time so they match the screen. Corey challenges Tiffany and wins, leading to much celebration. Paul challenges Natalie and wins. Paulie challenges Da’Vonne and wins. The guys who remain agree to give it to Paul to pull Corey off the block. Corey claims he tried to throw it but beats Paul anyway. Paulie knows what throwing a competition means and gives it to Corey.

Immediately afterward, Da’Vonne starts crying, a sign to Tiffany that she probably shouldn’t trust her.

Corey doesn’t seem like a very good target, but Da’Vonne is more logical. Nobody is really concerned about her getting nominated. Freaking out at her allies isn’t helping her case. Tiffany knows all of her secrets and decides to blow up her game.

Corey pretends like he might not use it because Nicole might get nominated, but it’s obvious that isn’t going to happen.

Big Brother 18 Episode 12

Enough of the house flipped in Big Brother 18 Episode 11 to evict Bronte instead of Tiffany and made it clear their target is Frank. Five minutes later, Frank was named as being safe from eviction this week. Not the smartest group of players.

The flaw in this whole roadkill nomination is that Bridgette lost complete control of the nominations, and one of her closest allies went home on her HOH. What’s even the point of winning HOH and getting blood on your hands if you can’t be responsible for what happens?

Because everybody is allied, these people all know each other’s secrets. Frank tells Tiffany that Da’Vonne warned him about her trying to start an all girl alliance, which is true.

Paulie wasn’t among those that flipped, and now that he is in control, he wants to go after Tiffany again. The people who all just rocked the boat to save her aren’t jumping to her defense because they only did that to screw over somebody else. This leaves her with no choice but to make a deal with the devil, Frank. Then she blows up at everybody else. This is precisely what Paulie warned them about. They kept an emotional and dangerous player in the house instead of the seemingly harmless Bronte.

Nominations
Tiffany
Natalie

If she were the pawn last week, Natalie probably would have been sent home. Perhaps the outcome will be different this time, but she’s not a safe choice for a pawn.

The roadkill competition requires them to hang air fresheners in the RV. Tiffany is the winner, hanging 31 of them.

Tiffany tells Da’Vonne about her plans to nominate Corey. That’s fine with her.

Roadkill Nomination
Corey

All the girls who ran the vote last week escape the block, but Corey’s elimination would be problematic for both Nicole and Paulie.

Big Brother 18 Episode 11

There was a lot of drama and talk in Big Brother 18 Episode 10, but nothing really seemed to happen. That leaves Tiffany, Paul, and Bronte on the block.

The alliance of eight seems perfectly content to get rid of one of their own already as Frank wants, but Da’Vonne has been doing a lot of whining about him and wants to do something to take him down.

As hell bent as Da’Vonne seems to be for getting rid of Frank, it doesn’t seem to make much sense. Nobody would really care if Tiffany went home, whereas chaos would ensue if Bronte did. Of course, seeing as she went home second last time, it’s not as if anybody ever accused Da’Vonne of being good at the game. The girls (and James) are easy to convince, but Paulie doesn’t like the thought of keeping an emotional player who is related to last year’s mastermind around.

Frank talks to Nicole and tries to get a name out of her for next week. She’s not going to give him a name, but she tells him it’s obvious who he is thinking, the same person who wants to get rid of him. He proposes an alliance between himself, Nicole, and their two allies Bridgette and Corey.

Then he goes to Michelle to tell her about Da’Vonne, a conversation that immediately gets back to her. In the process, he throws Nicole under the bus by mentioning his conversation with her.

The problem is he is talking to too many people about too many people. Frank thinks he’s being smooth, but he is just making everybody not trust him.

The group conversation turns to how it will be good to vote out Bronte because that will make Frank frazzled and thus bad at competitions. Oh, now this is just stupid, and I hope there is not anybody seriously basing a decision on this logic.

Votes
Frank: Tiffany
Natalie: Tiffany
James: Tiffany
Michelle: Bronte
Nicole: Bronte
Zakiyah: Bronte
Corey: Bronte
Paulie: Tiffany
Da’Vonne: Bronte

By a vote of 5-4, Bronte has been evicted from the Big Brother house. Pretty much the least threatening choice of the lot. It does put Frank in a tough spot, but he had two chances to nominate Da’Vonne if he was going to start throwing her name out there but declined both of them.

The HOH competition requires them to answer a series of true/false questions based on pictures they studied the night before. Corey, James, Natalie, Zakiyah, and Paul are eliminated on the first question. This is going fast. Everybody gets the second question correct. Tiffany, Michelle, and Da’Vonne are eliminated on the third question. Frank and Nicole are eliminated next. Paulie wins HOH.

Here’s the bad news for those who just tried to blow up Frank’s game. He didn’t win, but because it is a team game, Paulie’s team is safe, which means that Frank, Michelle, and Bridgette cannot be nominated. I wasn’t sure what to make of a Paulie win otherwise because he’s somewhere in the middle, but his options don’t exactly favor the tattered Eight Pack.

Big Brother 18 Episode 10

Bridgette was HOH sort of, but Frank played a heavy role in her nominations when Paul and Tiffany were put on the block in Big Brother 18 Episode 9. Then Frank nominated one of her closest allies, Bronte, after he won the roadkill competition again.

Bronte suspects Paulie as the person who nominated her because she aligned herself with a really bad group that has been getting evicted. She reveals to the other Spy Girls that she’s a secret nerd.

The problem with everybody in the house being in your alliance is that everybody knows your secrets. James warns Natalie that Frank is the roadkill winner but asks her not to tell the other girls that they can’t trust him. A subtle attempt to get Bridgette to see that Frank cannot be trusted doesn’t work and instead gets Bridgette to say she doesn’t trust James.

Bronte chooses Natalie to participate in the power of veto competition. Paulie is selected at random. They join Bridgette, Bronte, Paul, and Tiffany.

Their challenge is to watch a list of ingredients and pour the correct one based on the description, such as the middle ingredient listed. Bronte and Natalie are eliminated on the first one, taking out two of the three Spy Girls right away. Paulie is eliminated next. Tiffany is next, and her male alliance members start jumping up and down. Paul is the last one eliminated, and Bridgette wins the power of veto.

Now she can save Bronte, putting Natalie in danger instead. Before she has time to contemplate this, Frank’s celebration with her goes wrong and puts her on crutches.

Nobody else needs to rat out Frank because he tells Bridgette himself. He also tells her that he won the first time, and he was the one who nominated her. He can’t be trusted, but he struck first before anybody else could, creating more trust in the process. Risky, but it seems to have worked.

Veto Ceremony
Veto is not used.

Bronte didn’t really want the veto used knowing that Natalie may be put in danger instead, but Bridgette doesn’t comment on why she made the decision she did.

Big Brother 18 Episode 9

As expected, Victor was evicted in Big Brother 18 Episode 8. Then Bridgette won HOH.

The Eight Pack is out of power, but the alliance is fading anyway. Frank wants to get rid of Tiffany. Da’Vonne wants to get rid of Frank.

As for Bridgette, she doesn’t even really want the power. She doesn’t want any enemies, but she tells Frank that her nominees are Tiffany & Corey or Nicole & Corey. Either of those nominations are going to make waves.

Frank thinks he’s funny, but some of his jokes can clearly be taken as offensive. The girls don’t need much excuse to break off into their own little group, but he’s providing them with enough ammo. He’s crossing the line, and in turn Da’Vonne’s overreacting. He apologizes and seems sincere, and she pretends to accept his apology.

Nominations
Paul
Tiffany

People have argued that Frank is the one in control. He didn’t get exactly what he wanted, but he talked Bridgette out of doing what she proposed. In any case, she can probably rest easy because they already have an ax to grind with Frank, making him a good shield to take all the hate for the week.

The roadkill competition requires them to learn the sounds each horn makes and then repeat the series of sounds they hear. Frank is the winner again.

Now he’s going to get his way with the nominations. He wanted Bronte up their alongside Tiffany, which Bridgette was never going to do. He does tell most of his alliance, half of whom have turned on him, but he doesn’t tell the HOH. If she finds out, he could easily be a replacement nominee.

Big Brother 18 Episode 8

HOH Paulie won the power of veto in Big Brother 18 Episode 7 and removed one of his nominees, Paul, from the block. In his place, the actual target was nominated, putting Victor in danger alongside Bronte and Tiffany.

Bridgette confirms to Frank that Tiffany doesn’t like him, but she doesn’t think that he has to worry about her personally trying to get rid of him (he ignores this last part). He spreads the rumor that she’s trying to get in on the all girl thing. He doesn’t know that her actual female alliance is not with the Spy Girls but with all of the girls in his own alliance.

Frank tells Paulie all about the Eight Pack. Yeah, go ahead, let a ninth person in on it. There are 14 (soon to be 13) people in the house. Plenty of room left. Nicole doesn’t mind, but when Da’Vonne finds out, she’s not happy. So business as usual.

Paulie and Zakiyah make their own five person alliance and include Corey, Nicole, and Da’Vonne. Also not satisfied with this arrangement, Da’Vonne warns James.

There’s been a lot of talk about voting out Tiffany that nobody really believed, but that has died out with all this new alliance drama.

Votes
Natalie: Victor
Paul: Bronte
Bridgette: Victor
Zakiyah: Victor
James: Victor
Da’Vonne: Victor
Frank: Victor
Michelle: Victor
Nicole: Victor
Corey: Victor

By a vote of 9-1, Victor has been evicted from the Big Brother house. Paul remained on the sinking ship, but he is alone. Natalie leaves him with harsh words, the mark of a bad player. Make your last impression your best in case someone comes back into the house or has to vote for you.

The dumb luck HOH competition requires them to serve balls into numbered slots. Bronte is eliminated during the first round. Michelle is next. Then Nicole and Da’Vonne. James is next, followed by Frank. Corey is next. Zakiyah is out, leaving one person from each team. Tiffany and the Freakazoids are eliminated. Natalie and Team Unicorn are the second team to go. Bridgette beats Paul to win HOH for Category 4.

This seems like bad news for the guys, who keep voting each other out. The easy out here is Paul.

Big Brother 18 Episode 7

After Paulie won HOH in Big Brother 18 Episode 6, he decided he wanted to get rid of Victor. So he nominated Paul and Bronte. Then Victor won the roadkill competition and nominated Tiffany.

Victor chose Tiffany because he thinks she has rubbed a lot of people the wrong way. Little does he know she has basically no chance of going home. Of course, that doesn’t stop her from accusing the HOH and her allies of trying to backdoor her. Da’Vonne sees Vanessa’s paranoia and emotions coming back, and Frank doesn’t really like her anyway.

Tiffany will have to trust them because their plan hinges on her not winning veto. Perhaps not the smartest move, but it doesn’t seem like she has much choice. Of course, even if she is in a giant alliance, the way these people are talking (and the way she is behaving) doesn’t make her position seem overly secure.

Paul told Victor not to trust anyone, appropriate advice. In response, he ignored him did precisely the opposite, warning Paulie and Frank about his conversation with Paul. The information that Paulie has obtained is accurate, but this turn of events provides Paul with a reason to just let Victor sink on his own rather than dragging both of them down.

Da’Vonne is selected at random to participate in the veto competition. Paul gets to choose who he wants, and he picks Zakiyah, which should send a clear signal to Victor, but he convincingly plays dumb. Da’Vonne and Zakiyah join Paulie, Paul, Bronte, and Tiffany for veto.

Their challenge is to search through toe jam for fungi letters to use for spelling.

Paul: slouched (9 points)
Tiffany: twinkling (10 points)
Da’Vonne: redemption (9 points)
Zakiyah: duration (6 points)
Bronte: powerful (10 points)
Paulie: sustainability (10 points)

Somehow, the word sustainability (14 letters) is only enough to tie the words twinkling and powerful, but as the fastest person to complete the challenge, Paulie wins the power of veto. As for Tiffany, her word is not particularly impressive, but it could be seen as one that wasn’t trying to throw it, which she wasn’t.

In response to Paul not selecting Victor to participate in the competition, Paulie wants to remove him from the block.

Veto Ceremony
Paulie removes Paul from the block.
Paulie names Victor as the replacement.

It took him long enough, but perhaps Victor just woke up to what’s really happening. At least it didn’t take him as long as Jozea.
