The Celebrity Apprentice 5 Winner

Aubrey was finally fired in The Celebrity Apprentice 5 Episode 13, setting up a final showdown between Clay Aiken and Arsenio Hall.

Trump starts off the evening getting a ride from an Andretti. I seem to remember him going out of his way to fire one of them for no good reason earlier in the season.

For all the drama of the cliffhanger we were left with, the video Arsenio received of Magic Johnson is perfectly usable. Typical.

The Clay/Debbie wall painting drama continues. When he receives pictures of her cousin’s past work, he agrees to let her paint. Because you wouldn’t want your walls to look silly when you’re putting on a carnival.

Aubrey continues to remind us that, in spite of the fact that she’s been fired, she’s still the best one there and the only reason Clay has anything.

Lou Ferrigno has gone out and given 110%, raising $41,000 for his charity, and George Takei has also raised about $60,000, much of it from himself. Dayana Mendoza does not have anything positive to say about Lisa, who did not display anything positive that could be said about her. Victoria Gotti refers to Aubrey as a cartoon character and Lisa as crude, rude, and classless. Tia Carrere doesn’t need to name names because everybody knows, but she’s not surprised to see two men in the finale.

When the parties start, there are Claymates everywhere. In Arsenio’s line, there’s about 6 people. Hopefully they’ll show up eventually.

Clay gets some donations from singers, and his largest initial donation is $20,000, pooled together by a bunch of his fans. Arsenio’s getting donations from comedians like Jay Leno and Eddie Murphy. Lisa manages to sneak away from Arsenio’s party, which she’s supposed to be working, to make a $10,000 donation to Clay.

After mingling on their own for a while, the parties cross together for Arsenio’s stand up and Clay’s musical show.

Aubrey’s blonde now. She seems surprised that anybody could have taken offense, but says this was a learning experience and apologizes for offending everybody.

Arsenio’s team raised $167,100; Clay’s team raised $301,500. Less impressive than what we’ve seen in years past, but still respectable. Based on how they tried to make it seem he never really focused on fundraising, plus taking into account who was on each team, I was not expecting Clay to have such a lopsided money victory. Trump tells us this isn’t all the task is being judged on, but it would seem very difficult to overcome.

Dayana would vote for Arsenio based on her experience working with Clay.

Ivanka says Clay was liked by almost everybody, strategically refined, and assertive when he needed to be. Arsenio was a bit more passive but highly effective as a leader, in spite of having a few more enemies.

The Celebrity Apprentice 5 winner is Arsenio Hall. Clay again has to settle for runner up status.

The Celebrity Apprentice 5 Episode 13

Teresa got fired after losing as project manager in The Celebrity Apprentice 5 Episode 12. Then the final four were narrowed down further when Lisa was fired, in spite of for the first time not having a bad attitude for a stretch of about half an hour.

With one person having already faced the post-interview firing, that leads us to one more person left to be fired.

Because the interviewers thought she was an inexperienced chess player, finally Aubrey been fired. Finally. She walks out the door with her ego as big as ever, but acknowledges she’s an unfinished person.

What a productive few minutes that was. First Lisa, then Aubrey. Good riddance to the people who insist they came up with every (bad) idea in the most abrasive manner possible.

That leaves us with a final two of Arsenio Hall and Clay Aiken.

They will have to sell tickets for their charity event, produce a 30 second charity awareness ad, and put on a variety show.

Having won every time he was project manager, Arsenio gets to start building his team first.

Arsenio: Adam Carolla, Lisa Lampanelli, Paul Teutul Sr, Teresa Giudice
Clay: Penn Gillette, Debbie Gibson, Dee Snider, Aubrey O’Day

Arsenio focuses on comedy with his strange first picks, while Clay somehow manages to land all three musicians.

Adam suggests that his team tell donors they’re buying tickets not for themselves but for kids. When I think kid friendly, Adam Carolla and Lisa Lampanelli sure top my list. Arsenio promptly rejects this concept.

Aubrey hopes that Clay wins. She doesn’t like Arsenio.

Arsenio thinks the comedy will be easy enough. He can get a laugh at a funeral. But his end goal is to have Magic Johnson’s words about the charity take the spotlight.

Clay chose Penn in an effort to show Trump he could work with anybody. He’s starting to regret that, as Penn is shooting down ideas, which is what Clay had such a problem with when they worked together. Penn’s hope is to present the overcoming of the disability, rather than wallowing in it.

Why Arsenio snapped up Paul is now clear. He’s the money raiser. If history is any indication, this is very smart, as Paul raised over $300k in week 1. Lisa was so sure she was going to win that she’s already got $50k set aside for this task.

On the other team, there is no apparent focus on raising money, though they do seem to be creating a good event.

Dee’s dreading where this task is going. Is he really going to have to sing Baby Love with Debbie Gibson? In addition to that, Debbie is looking forward to singing her long forgotten tune that we’ve heard 108 times this season, Shake Your Love.

Clay wanted to shoot the video in a park. In New York City, they’re having trouble finding anywhere outdoors that’s not a skyscraper. The best they can get is a place with bars on the windows, but the director of photography is sure he can edit it so it doesn’t look completely depressing.

Lisa may be on the other team, but to thank Clay for helping raise money for her charity, she wants to buy a ticket to his event.

Clay’s getting frustrated, which is rubbing off on the rest of his team. Penn and Clay never got along to begin with, while Debbie is taking personal offense to what’s happening with the mural she wants her cousin to paint on the wall, which Clay refuses to give the okay for until he sees a sketch.

Arsenio has taken the opposite approach, as he’s a lot more hands off and just trusting those he’s appointed, some might say too much.

Adam’s crew has finally delivered the file of the footage of Magic Johnson. What Adam failed to reveal to Arsenio is that these aren’t professional video people. We get the hint of this when the entire thing is sideways.

The Celebrity Apprentice 5 Episode 12

As the least dramatic person left, Dayana finally found herself being fired in The Celebrity Apprentice 5 Episode 11.

Teresa thinks she’s Lisa’s next target. After all, she needs somebody to pick on.

This week’s task is to create a 4 page print ad campaign to promote a touch screen hair dryer. It would be nice to have Dayana here. They will be judged on brand messaging, print ad campaign, and overall pitch.

Lisa and Teresa are the project managers.

Because Farooq loved Aubrey, Teresa will be going for the redhead since presumably that’s what Aubrey’s hair color is supposed to be. They also decide on a guy they want. Lisa and Clay have no preference.

They must negotate for models. Teresa reveals all her cards at the start of the meeting. This leads to Lisa pretending that she really wants all the same models. It could be argued that Lisa’s unnecessarily being a bitch, but Teresa just performed poorly at this negotiation. In the end, Teresa got two of the four people she wanted, while Lisa lost nothing because she really didn’t care as long as she got all women, not two guys like she forced Teresa to accept.

For all the drama, the reality is that none of these models are going to either make or break this task.

Aubrey has an idea. She wants to hire her favorite model. Aubrey. Ironically, when their redheaded model that they wanted so badly arrives, she’s blonde, so they send her home.

Lisa’s team has gone with a theme of women being more than what they are on the outside, a concept that may be difficult to portray on paper in 4 pages. The other team has a futuristic theme in which their models are in yoga poses to go along with the Chi brand.

On both teams, it’s difficult to tell who’s the project manager, as neither team leader seems to be managing anything.

After the presentation, Aubrey informs us, as usual, that she did everything, so if they lose, it’s not her fault.

The executives thought Teresa’s team had a lot of passion, and Arsenio was great for a hairless guy. They didn’t think the ad pointed out the features, they didn’t think the photos were really Elle, and they thought Teresa was awkward during the presentation.

As far as the other team, they had a lot of information, paid attention to both the Elle and Chi audiences, and they liked the back cover with the tomboy look. However, the clothing was a bit dated, and the presentation lacked passion.

Based on the feedback, it’s pretty obvious who won this. Lisa’s team wins, and she receives $100,000 for her charity.

Teresa would fire Arsenio because he did not do much work. Arsenio responds with the same criticism to her. For a change, Aubrey can just sit there and keep her mouth shut, while these two argue with each other.

Since the executives loved Aubrey and Arsenio, Teresa is fired.

After the boardroom, they are called right back to the boardroom. It’s interview time with John Rich and Marlee Matlin. After that, two people will be fired. I suspect one of Aubrey and Lisa will survive unscathed, but they will be split up as they should have been weeks ago due to their very bad creative concepts and general mean spiritedness.

Marlee thought Aubrey was nervous, but she can identify with her charity. John thinks she’s a chess player, who’s a little green.

Marlee feels Clay is sweet and genuine, but she wonders whether he’s a leader or a follower. They both give him a hard time for only being project manager twice.

John likes Arsenio’s energy, though he can be a little out of control. Marlee can see his passion about his charity.

Lisa talks a lot and comes on strong, and she can’t control her emotions. John can appreciate her toughness because she had to travel a lot like he does.

Due to her lack of emotional control, Lisa has been fired.

One more person will be fired. Next week.

The Celebrity Apprentice 5 Episode 11

Penn Gillette seemed to be one of the frontrunners, but in The Celebrity Apprentice 5 Episode 10, he came up with a slogan that was too pompous for Donald Trump (is that even possible?), which led to him being fired.

We start the show with Aubrey’s mouth running as her ego continues to burst.

Now Dayana gets to advance in the next task with two people who would just as soon see her fired.

This week’s task is to write and produce a 90 second jingle for Good Sam’s road side assistance program, then they will perform that jingle in front of a live audience. They will be judged on the jingle, brand messaging, and the performance itself.

I’m inclined to believe the team with Clay has an advantage. Supposedly, Aubrey is also a singer, though. I’ll take her word for it, even though I never heard of her before.

Dayana volunteers to be her team’s project manager since Clay did it last time. Arsenio wants to be his team’s project manager, knowing full well Aubrey will take all the credit regardless.

In the van ride over, Aubrey is already pitching ideas, which Arsenio immediately rejects. In the other van, Dayana seems lost. First she has to figure out that jingles aren’t just for Christmas. She does hit on an interesting idea, though. Just call Debbie Gibson. I’m not a fan, but the jingle she wrote received much praise.

Aubrey leads the discussion with the executive in the direction she wants it to go. This allows her again to pitch her cheerleading idea, which this time Arsenio accepts.

Although she’s the team leader, Dayana feels left out of this project, as Clay and Lisa instead clear ideas with each other. They can’t completely sideline her like usual, but they’ll do it to the extent possible. Granted, she really has no idea about music. Not that Lisa does either, though she can do some writing.

When Don Jr. comes to visit, Aubrey whines to him about how she does everything, and Arsenio sucks. Then he goes to visit Dayana’s team, and she says they’re lucky to have Clay on their team, which Lisa takes offense to because her name was not also mentioned. This leads to another Lisa meltdown, as she cries, swears, yells, and storms out, all while Dayana sits there and smiles at her. Dayana apologizes, even though she has no reason to, but apparently the words “I’m sorry” do not count as an apology in Lisa’s book.

Before they rehearse, Arsenio gives Aubrey instructions. She ignores them and does what she wants.

The drama with Dayana is not over yet. Now it’s Clay’s turn. She asks him a question. Then he attacks. Less dramatic than his confrontation with Penn, or Lisa’s confrontation with humans in general, though.

The teams come up with two very different approaches. Dayana’s team does a more conservative 60s jingle. Arsenio’s team does a more contemporary song with some rap and Aubrey about ready to pop out of her top.

In the boardroom, it’s time for Dayana vs. Lisa, round 12. Lisa shouts, Dayana stays cool, Lisa shouts louder and adds some insults into the mix.

Dayana declines to name who she would fire.

Aubrey interjects. She says she has no right to say anything, but she will anyway to defend Lisa.

Dayana is talking to deaf ears when she tries to discuss Lisa’s temper. Lisa insists that her swearing and shouting and being insulting makes her a good businesswoman. Sure, it works for being a potty mouthed comedian, but I can’t imagine anyone in a normal business setting respecting her.

The executives thought Clay’s singing was phenomenal, Lisa’s writing and performance was great, and there was a lot of energy. The branding was not on the mark, the theme was too safe, and Dayana was missing until the end.

For the other team, the jingle was catchy, there was good integration of the mascot, and they appreciated Arsenio’s and Aubrey’s performances. But it was a bit too sexy, and Teresa did not contribute much to the performance.

Arsenio’s team won $45,000 for his charity, plus the proceeds from the sales of the Good Sam mascot.

Dayana was certainly not responsible for the failure of this task (had they listened to her, they wouldn’t have gone with the safe 60s theme that ultimately blew it), nor is it fair to subject the others to Lisa’s behavior. However, with Dayana having fallen into the bottom three yet again, she has been fired. As with Penn before, she leaves with more dignity than some who remain.

Stay tuned to dingoRUE for another live recap of The Celebrity Apprentice 5 Episode 12, which airs Sunday at 9/8c on NBC.

The Celebrity Apprentice 5 Episode 10

Because he angered Donald Trump by not bringing back the people Trump insisted were at fault in The Celebrity Apprentice 5 Episode 9, Paul Teutul, Sr. was fired.

Lisa promises to be nice to Dayana on the next task. That would be different.

After finding out that Paul is gone, Arsenio is afraid for his team. Aubrey cements that when she says Teresa’s not strong, she doesn’t trust Arsenio, so she does not have anyone’s back.

Donald Trump is launching a fragrance called Success. Their task is to create an in-store display for Macy’s. They will be judged on creativity of the slogan, brand messaging, and the display.

George returns as the only non-Trump allowed to be an advisor.

Clay and Aubrey are project managers. Aubrey lost last time they went against each other.

Clay is smart enough to realize he’s got a star in Dayana, so he wants her to be his model, though he does not want her to get as undressed as she suggests.

Aubrey’s definition of success is happiness. She’s alone there. Arsenio certainly disagrees.

Penn comes up with a slogan, “You earned it.” Clay’s hesitant to run with this early idea, but he does when the rest of the team gets behind it.

When they find a quote from Trump on the Internet, the other team decides to go with “Always trust your instincts.”

Not having a model on their team, Aubrey has another idea: Eric Trump.

Aubrey sends Teresa and Arsenio to get supplies so that she can get rid of them and work on her own.

On the other side, Clay keeps thinking and thinking of what they need to do, as the deadline approaches. He realizes this isn’t his bag.

When Eric arrives, after she takes his picture, Aubrey takes full credit for everything. As usual.

Lisa’s been hearing Aubrey’s voice throughout the task, and she refuses to tune it out. Instead, she goes and spies on them. She returns with a report that both teams have come up with a similar concept, focusing on the skyline. Aubrey was talking about originality and not wanting to go with the obvious, but this was a pretty obvious approach considering they are promoting the product of a real estate mogul.

George is less impressed by Aubrey than she is. He thinks the building looks like a Rolls Royce, and that they missed the boat when they used Eric. After his visit, Arsenio is worried, but Aubrey still doesn’t get the hint.

Before giving her pitch, Aubrey tells us she’s responsible for a lot of wins. Really?

Her team is all granted some role to play in the pitch, and they have created pamphlets in the shape of the bottle, as well as scent strips.

The other team has Clay give a brief pitch, and when he’s done, he asks if the executives have any questions. No, they do not. Keep going. He’ll stumble for a couple more minutes, but that’s about all they’ve got.

The executives suggest combining elements of both displays would result in one great campaign, as they are not completely impressed with either display.

Clay calls his teammates all incredible.

Lisa says that Clay is in her top two project managers, with her buddy Aubrey being the other. She also says that Dayana killed it.

When they see the other team’s work, Lisa loves the pamphlet and scent strip, saying she is envious of them. Arsenio thinks Clay did a great job, and Dayana is beautiful.

Arsenio does not like being minimized. He thought he did something really important, finding the quote for the slogan. Aubrey interjects to take credit for it as well.

The executives thought Clay’s photo was beautifully done and representative of Trump, and the display was well done. They hated the slogan (too pompous), the photo (that they loved) was overpowering, and the slogan (that they hated) was too far apart and too small.

They loved Aubrey’s team’s slogan, thought the brand messaging was great, and had attention to detail. But the display was just okay and lacked creativity, and the silhouette was unappealing.

Trump offered $100,000 if he loved the winning display. He doesn’t. So instead, he offers $40,000 to the winning project manager, plus $10,000 to each contestant.

Aubrey’s team wins, and she receives $40,000 for her charity, GLISTEN. Not merely content with her win, Aubrey says she was hoping for the $100k, and she would have gotten that if she had smarter people from the other side on her team. The most compelling thing the other team did was the photo of Dayana. There’s no way Aubrey’s ego would defer that much of the spotlight to anyone, especially Dayana.

Clay leads by consensus. Trump does not.

The other team did pamphlets and scent strips, but Dayana’s idea to do it on this team was shot down. Clay’s defense is that he can’t always understand her.

Clay will be returning to the boardroom with Penn and Dayana. The Penn choice is obvious. But why Dayana? His answer is that Lisa’s the stronger of the two going forward. Still, a bad decision considering this task by itself.

Aubrey has an issue with Lisa. Why did she say Dayana was great? After all, Aubrey wants to see Dayana fired as much as all the other women do.

Neither Dayana nor Lisa were going to get fired here, so putting Dayana in the line of fire isn’t going to sit well with Trump.

Based on this task, Clay would fire Penn. However, he would rather get rid of Dayana, but that’s not happening, so he’s doing himself more harm than good by continuing to go there.

Penn would fire Clay as the project manager. Dayana would fire Clay for that same reason, and she gives Penn credit for his work on the design and photo.

Not taking the hint, Clay again asks for Dayana to be fired. And again.

Because he came up with the slogan, Penn has been fired.

Stay tuned to dingoRUE for another live recap of The Celebrity Apprentice 5 Episode 11, which airs Sunday at 9/8c on NBC.

The Celebrity Apprentice 5 Episode 9

Having not contributed much throughout the season was not what led to Lou Ferrigno’s end in The Celebrity Apprenice 5 Episode 8. Instead, Trump jumped on a comment he made about how the other team should win, and he was fired for disloyalty.

Clay questions: is Lisa’s attitude because of so many losses, or are the losses because of her attitude?

Their task is to build two original miscreant characters for an adult puppet show. They will be judged on puppet design, quality of puppeteering and improv, and total live performance.

Trump asks who should join the team that has smaller numbers. Dayana says she would like Clay. Lisa would like Aubrey. Regardless, Trump has already made a decision. They get Clay, yet another person that Lisa doesn’t like.

Lisa volunteers to be project manager for her team. Paul gets volunteered for his team.

Aubrey’s biting her tongue in an attempt to get to the finals. As a result, Arsenio is starting to get along with her. Paul knows he can’t do improve, so he defers those roles to his teammates.

Penn is too tall to be a puppeteer, so he will be the host. Lisa and Clay will be the puppeteers. Dayana’s just waiting for her task, which never comes.

Aubrey doesn’t like the directon her team is going with their puppets, but she declines to say anything about it. That’s a change.

Paul, who wasn’t particularly comfortable with this task to begin with (and as such, it was strange for him to be the project manager), is just sitting back and letting the others do their own thing.

Dayana has finally been given a task. She is designing Lisa’s puppet. The Henson people say she’s so good they would hire her. This doesn’t last long. When it’s time to rehearse, Dayana becomes a spectator again.

Clay suggests letting Dayana be part of the performance. Lisa is not having this. So as usual, she flips out and goes crazy. Dayana walks out in tears, then Lisa starts crying as well, berating Penn and Clay for not taking her side.

Dayana says Lisa was okay as a project manager. Lisa did not think much of Dayana, to whom she did not want to give anything to do.

Lisa has not decided whether she will be bringing anybody back. She may just fall on the sword, no longer wanting to be the villain. A little late for that after 9 weeks of spewing hatred.

Paul would bring back Teresa, who takes a long time to make up her mind, such as how long it took to come up with her puppet’s name.

Ivanka comes to Paul’s defense, saying he was limited by his hurt back. Arsenio was inspired by him.

The Henson folks thought Penn was a great host, Lisa and Clay did an incredible job, and they would use the puppets in their own show. However, Penn missed a couple cues, and one of the acts was too sexual.

For the other team, they thought Arsenio was excellent, and Aubrey had great instincts as a host. But they thought the show was a little safe, the puppets were too complex, and Teresa had trouble with the rules of improv.

Lisa’s team won $20,000 for her charity, Gay Men’s Health Crisis.

Arsenio and Teresa take the heat for their puppets.

Teresa thinks Paul should be fired because he didn’t do anything. Her philosophy is simple: if someone throws her under the bus, she will do it back.

Paul will allow Arsenio to escape the firing line, which may give the girls a chance to gang up on him.

Aubrey’s not sure why she is back there, and in this case, she should be safe. Trump asks about how they didn’t love what Arsenio did. Apparently, calling him excellent is not a compliment. Not like it matters. Neither Arsenio nor Aubrey are getting fired on this task.

Aubrey would fire Paul because Teresa tried so hard at being great at something she can’t do well.

Because he did not bring Arsenio back and does not agree with Trump that he should have, Paul is fired.

Stay tuned to dingoRUE for another live recap of The Celebrity Apprentice 5 Episode 10, which airs Sunday at 9/8c on NBC.

The Celebrity Apprentice 5 Episode 8

The extended 3 hour The Celebrity Apprentice 5 Episode 7 did not lack for drama. First, Debbie Gibson was fired, in spite of losing project manager Teresa Giudice’s poor decisions. Following a tribe shuffle (because the women kept losing over and over again by listening to bad ideas from Aubrey and Lisa), Dee Snider, who has never been in danger during this whole process, found himself being fired rather than the one all the fingers were pointing at, Lou Ferrigno.

As if the double task and corresponding double firing weren’t enough, the real fireworks came from the boardroom of the second task, where winning project manager Arsenio Hall went off on new teammate Aubrey O’Day, like so many other people have been dying to do. For all her mean spirited antics, Aubrey could not take the heat when it backfired, and from the looks of it, got out of the kitchen.

Arsenio starts swearing about Aubrey. Lisa is offended. She doesn’t understand how anybody can use that kind of language. Like she has done all season, just got done doing, and starts doing at Arsenio. When her surviving team members return, she proceeds to swear at them, too.

Sadly, Aubrey is back the next day.

Their task is a 60 second commercial for Entertainment.com. They will be judged on creativity, product integration, and overall brand messaging.

Dayana immediately volunteers to be the project manager, without discussing it with anybody else. Teresa is the project manager for her team, which she just did last week.

Arsenio acknowledges the way he handled things was not right. At least he’s man enough to admit that. Sure, everything he said was accurate, but he could have done it with less anger. One good thing that came out of all of this: Aubrey’s shutting up for a change, rather than trying to ram her ideas down everyone’s throats.

Penn will be leaving, again, for a show.

Dayana’s team comes up with a love story facilitated by coupons. Lou isn’t saying much, but the one thing he does want to do is star in the commercial (he wants to be Dayana’s love interest). Oh. Again?

The other team is writing a dirty commercial, but they will be using their star power, complete with Paul wearing a sweater and glasses.

In case we did not get the hint before, Lou reminds us he wants to be in the commercial. Instead, Dayana assigns banners to him, a task he struggles to do. He’s not good with computers either.

Ivanka visits Teresa’s team, where Aubrey jumps in to explain what they are doing. She wonders if anything really got through to Aubrey, seeing as she’s still trying to take control.

Lisa and Dayana are getting along. Strange. Instead, Lisa has set her sights on Lou.

Dayana calls Lou her weakest link. Lisa agrees.

Lou still has a problem with what happened at the top of the show. If Lisa were a man, he would throw her through a window because she called him and Dayana useless. Lisa says this tactic of calling her out didn’t work, and it doesn’t ruffle her feathers. Her feathers seem ruffled.

Teresa declines to name a weakest link. She thinks all 5 of them should go back to the boardroom. Aubrey also refuses to name names.

Paul calls Clay the star of their team.

Breaking ranks, Lou says he liked the other team’s commercial better because they used more star power. I agree with their rationale for not putting anybody in their commercial. Dayana is an ideal leading female, but neither of the guys would have fit with her (nor would the star of their commercial have fit with her), no matter whether Lou thinks he is her appropriate partner or not.

The executives liked that Dayana’s team showed all the ways they could use the product, and that the story was relateable to a broad audience. However, they thought the story was a bit stale, the direction was a bit poor, and they didn’t really show how the app worked.

They thought the other team was creative, and showed how the app worked. But they were concerned it was borderline because how risque it was, and didn’t like the use of the word old fashioned, which may potentially alienate a base of their consumers that does clip traditional coupons (this from a company with .com in its name).

Teresa’s team wins, and she receives $60,000 for her charity, NephCure Foundation.

And so we continue the battle of Lisa against Lou, while the other two sit to the side and keep their mouths shut unless spoken to.

Since Penn was again not there for half the task (which would be a fair reason for him to be fired), Dayana will be bringing back Lou and Lisa.

Lou says whatever happens, it’s been a pleasure. Lisa does not share that same sentiment.

Lou would fire Lisa. No, wait, Dayana. She was the project manager.

Lisa would fire Lou, who brought no ideas to the table, then turned on his team in the boardroom.

We all know Trump’s opinion about disloyalty. Adding that to Lou’s lack of work on a pretty consistent basis leads to one conclusion: Lou is fired.

Stay tuned to dingoRUE for another live recap of The Celebrity Apprentice 5 Episode 9, which airs Sunday at 9/8c on NBC.

The Celebrity Apprentice 5 Episode 7

After Aubrey and Lisa’s bad ideas once again sent their team to the boardroom, Trump needed a convenient scapegoat in The Celebrity Apprentice 5 Episode 6, and he got one in the form of Patricia Valasquez.

So apparently with no The Amazing Race this week, this is a three hour episode.

We pick up after 1 hour. The women, led by Teresa, find themselves back in the boardroom after a fundraising task. If Patricia were still around, perhaps they would have won this task, rather than losing by $14.

Aubrey raised the least money. Teresa says she had to babysit Debbie and Dayana.

Debbie would fire Teresa due to her lack of fundraising and disorganization. However, Dayana is the weakest link.

Dayana tries to explain herself, and asks Lisa to be professional for once and let her speak. Good luck with that. Her point remains the same as it has: they keep following Lisa and Aubrey at the expense of everybody else’s ideas, and they keep losing. Her bottom line is she would fire the person who brought in the least money, Aubrey.

Dayana and Debbie will be returning with Teresa to the boardroom, as Aubrey gets a pass yet again.

What’s up with this receptionist who can barely get through her script of two sentences?

Dayana says what she has to say about how she raised funds for both Teresa and Patricia. Then she sits back and lets Debbie and Teresa go at each other.

Debbie says that, if this is about fundraising, Dayana should not be in the boardroom with them. Instead, Aubrey should be. Trump agrees.

Rather than firing Teresa for playing bad politics or for not raising much money in spite of it being her charity that was on the line, Trump fires Debbie for raising the least amount of money of the three people sitting at the table.

Upon returning to the suite, Aubrey picks a fight with the men, getting wind of the fact that they believe that Teresa should have been fired because she didn’t bring her back. They can’t just bicker within their own team. Now they have to try to spread their bad attitudes.

As the winning project manager, Dee Snider brings a check for $325,000 to March of Dimes.

The women have lost 5 out of 7 tasks. Because of that, the teams will be switched. Lisa and Aubrey’s clique is being broken up, so for a change one of them will actually win. Teresa and Aubrey head to the opposite team, while Lou, Penn, and Dee also switch.

Arsenio’s stuck with Aubrey. He ain’t happy. Dayana, however, is happy with her new team, even though she knows Lisa is miserable.

Their task is to create a live, interactive health segment to promote the benefits of walking, plus a new design for the Walk with Walgreens membership kit. They will be judged on brand messaging, kit design, and overall presentation.

Lou is the project manager for Forte. Arsenio is the project manager for Unanimous.

When the executives arrive, Aubrey tells them what they want. Sure, she poses it in the form of a question, but Arsenio would like her to listen.

Penn comes up with the idea of talking about all the things you can do while walking. Perhaps if they can incorporate all these different things, it would make walking more fun.

Dayana has an idea. Typically it would be glossed over, which seems to be a risk here, but Dee interjects to make sure she is heard. He has decided to be a protective father figure of her, and both he and Penn say they are impressed by her.

As project manager, Lou will be the host, over Penn’s objections. What he does have at least is a great story about how he had to get both knees and both hips replaced, which gave him a new appreciation for walking.

On the other team, they will be doing a game show. Arsenio is the host, Clay is the announcer, and the others are contestants.

Aubrey has a suggestion for Arsenio: he could be the person who took a walk away from the industry for a while. He’s going to slap her before the day’s over. Insults aside, she does come with a concept to put all their faces on the box. Some of them are actually recognizeable.

Penn’s done a great job at getting the ball rolling, but now he has to take a flight so he can go do a gig in Canada.

Dee takes a very conservative approach with the kit. His concept is to not screw with what they already have too much.

During their meeting with Eric, the observation that everybody else has made finally dawns on Aubrey: she’s trying to take over Arsenio’s task.

While Aubrey takes control of her team, Lisa has her own team to try to take control over. Once she’s done running the rehearsal, she wants to get Dayana out of there. First, she wants to make sure she is not wearing a bikini (Trump will not be happy), and second, she wants to talk bad about her to Dee, who refuses to join her in her belief that Dayana is an idiot.

Penn’s back the next morning, ready to give a presentation on an hour’s sleep. Have to give him credit. There are many who simply would have bowed out for the task. He’s doing great, aside from calling it walk with Walmart. Oops.

Like Lou, Paul really believes in the benefits of walking. He’s lost 65 pounds in the last 4 years, and he considers walking to be an important factor in that.

Lisa thought Lou was just alright.

Clay thinks Arsenio is great. He says Aubrey is an idea person, but Teresa is a better team player.

When they look at the other team’s boxes, Clay and Aubrey call Forte boring. Lisa, however, is quite impressed with what her opponents have done. Aubrey asks if she’s proud that she wrote the quotes. Arsenio’s been trying to bite his tongue, but here we go. He wants her to acknowledge she did not write his quote, and to stop thinking about the I in team.

The executives felt Unanimous’ presentation was full of energy, loved the theme (face reality), but they thought the game show was just too informational, rather than encouraging people to get out there and sign up. Before we can find out what they thought of the other team, Arsenio continues his anti-Aubrey rant, and Clay agrees, albeit less forcefully.

Arsenio would fire Aubrey. Paul agrees. So does Clay.

Back to Forte. They loved Lou’s story. However, Penn mentioned a competitor, and they didn’t like the use of negative words in their walking kit. Dee thought it would be funny to put random words on the box, which Lisa agreed with, but Dayana’s opposition to it was disregarded.

Arsenio’s team won, and he will receive $50,000 for his charity, Magic Johnson Foundation. In addition, his charity has teamed up with Walgreens to create a bracelet, with $2 from the sale of each going to them.

In spite of the win, good luck to this team going forward. As the rest of the team goes back to the suite, Aubrey goes off in her own direction as they are used to her doing. Her direction is down, in the elevator.

Penn thinks the project manager should be fired. Dee agrees. So does Dayana.

Lou thinks Dee should be fired. Broken record Lisa would bring back Dayana, plus Lou, both of whom she considers limited.

Dee and Dayana will be going back to the boardroom.

Back in the suite, Arsenio’s positive emotions for what just happened to his charity have now faded back to an outburst about Aubrey, whose fate is unknown to them.

Dee comes to Dayana’s defense, saying that perhaps she didn’t do anything specific, but she helped out in every area. He then asks why Lou let everybody take something over, without seemingly leaving anything for himself.

Taking into account Lou’s presentation and Dee’s box design, Dee has been fired. Fair decision, though I’m not sure how Lou’s still around.
