Big Brother 16 Episode 10

Caleb got himself nominated on purpose so that he could “save” Amber in Big Brother 16 Episode 9, as he and the heretofore (and still) invisible Jocasta lost the battle of the block to Amber and Donny.

At the end of the last episode, Nicole “disappeared”. The reason? She has to wear a frog outfit for a week. That was as lame a cliffhanger as I’ve ever seen.

Amber never asked Caleb to throw the competition. On the contrary, she asked him not to. Now she thinks he expects something in return. He does. Meanwhile, Cody and Amber are getting closer, a fact not lost on Caleb.

Jocasta was not feeling well before the competition, and now she’s falling apart, throwing up, and requiring assistance to get around the house.

Team America accomplishes their first task, managing to convince several people in the house that Zach is related to Amanda. I think they may have even convinced Zach of this.

Due to illness, Jocasta will not participate in the power of veto competition. Derrick selects Christine at random, Caleb chooses Devin, and Donny is also picked.

Since he will be competing, Derrick tells Donny who his target is. This target is news to Donny, no matter how obvious it is. In return, he does not plan to share his game with Derrick, who has been keeping him out of the loop for three weeks now.

Oh bloody hell. It begins. This week’s Team America mission was mildly amusing but ultimately harmless. Next week, they will have to nominate whoever (by category… a floater or a physical threat) they are told. This predicably sucks.

The veto competition pits players against each other one pair at a time. They hop inside giant dice and must figure out how to roll them so that the number matches the randomly drawn number when they return to their starting spots.

Christine challenges Devin and loses. As much of a puzzle as this is, some muscle is not going to hurt any. Derrick can now select whoever he wants. So he chooses Devin. Lame, but the irony is that, although he he likely to be worn out more quickly, he is also getting plenty of practice. Devin wins again. Donny selects Devin as well, and by some miracle, Donny wins. Donny then wins again to claim the power of veto against Caleb, who says he is not the brightest crayon in the box.

Immediately upon returning inside the house, Donny tells Jocasta she is not going home. In her place, Devin is the replacement nominee as planned. Though it may seem a foregone conclusion that Devin is going home, there are plenty of people who would not mind seeing Caleb go either, including members of his own alliance such as Cody and Amber.
