Despite Zach’s blow up at the veto ceremony, the house got together and decided in Big Brother 16 Episode 8 to eliminate the truly big threat… Paola.
Derrick and Nicole won HOH following the eviction. Derrick seems happy to be in this position. Nicole, not so much. That competition was so lame that the only way to win it was completely by accident.
17 hours before the eviction, Devin revealed the entire Bomb Squad (the alliance that now includes 3/4 of the house) to Jocasta and Brittany. An hour later, he told Donny.
Now that Nicole is HOH, Christine has decided to tell her about the Bomb Squad as well.
When they get together to discuss nominations, Derrick and Nicole basically have just a list of people who they don’t want to get rid of. Nicole would appreciate a professional pawn like Paola right about now. Devin is the target this week, but they don’t want to give him two chances to save himself. Derrick suggests nominating Amber because Caleb will volunteer to be nominated and throw it. As predicted, Caleb believes he can impress Amber by doing just that. The end result in this scenario is that Caleb would then be on the block against the other nominee.
Donny has a warning for Nicole. She may want to deal with that eight person alliance because if she doesn’t, they’ll still be in the minority next week. During this discussion, thinking she can trust him, she tells him the nomination plans, which are then shared downstairs with others.

Nicole’s nominations are just… weird. Why make an enemy out of Donny when there are no plans for him to stay on the block anyway? If you’re going to nominate him, at least give him a heads up, and don’t say that you’re nominating him based on some last minute information. Following the nomination ceremony, she begins second guessing herself. After some drama, they kiss and make up.
The very first mission for Team America is to spread a rumor that someone in the game is related to a past Big Brother contestant. They come up with a plan that Amanda from season 15 is related to Zach because they are both from Florida and both are loud.
The battle of the block requires teams to solve a puzzle while one of them is suspended in the air. Derrick hopes that Caleb can throw this with subtlety, as if half the house does not know already, including Caleb’s partner in this battle, Jocasta. Donny says he’s good at puzzles, but Amber admits to being lost. As planned, Donny and Amber win the battle of the block.
