Big Brother 16 Episode 8

After Devin pretty much told everyone that he was going to keep them safe, he ended up removing his original target Brittany from the block and replacing her with fellow alliance member Zach in Big Brother 16 Episode 7. We now rejoin the chaos already in progress.

As the veto ceremony concludes, Brittany asks to say something. The reason she said Paola is her target is that she threw the competition. C’mon, it’s Paola. What are the odds she will win anything? Granted, this is Big Brother, and even the people from season 6 were able to win competitions. Still, though, the odds are pretty good that she did not throw it and would not have won even if she did.

Then Zach blows up on Devin and, well, everybody else. All Paola needs to do is keep her mouth shut and let him keep digging. Zach’s rant has caused the person who seemed to be his closest ally, Frankie, to question why he should trust him again. Later, Zach goes off on Paola about throwing the competition.

Devin (with Frankie standing by) reveals the alliance to Hayden and invites him to join in Zach’s place. Hayden basically thinks he has no other choice, so why not play along? Devin promises him he will not put up another alliance member. Again.

The main person who still trusts Zach and goes to battle for him is Derrick. He talks Caleb into it, and it seems they now have the votes to keep Zach. That would make the Bomb Squad a 9 person alliance. Except now Devin says he’s out and on his own. Hasn’t he been since the beginning?

Frankie: Paola
Nicole: Paola
Christine: Paola
Victoria: Paola

By a vote of 10-2, Paola has been evicted from the Big Brother house. What a complete waste of a week from Devin, and not just a wasted week but a week in which he kept piling the blood on his hands for no apparent reason. Most people went with the majority, whereas Jocosta and Donny went with their friend. I’m not sure whether this result was the right decision or not. Zach can be a useful ally, but he needs to stop putting both his feet in his mouth, which I don’t see happening. He keeps saying whatever comes to his mind without really thinking, and though he does not mean any harm, the harm keeps happening. Paola tells Julie she’s not sure whether she threw the competition or not.

The HOH competition is underwater polo (without any water). They will have a single shot at getting their balls into the highest numbered slot. Amber scores 17. Cody ties her. Caleb takes the lead with 21. Frankie takes the lead with 24. Christine is eliminated with 4. Nicole takes the lead with 29, the highest possible score. Yeah, this is a challenge even Paola could have won. Victoria is eliminated with 12. Brittany is out with 16. Zach is out with 8. Donny follows with 20. Hayden scores 17. Jocasta gets 22. Derrick scores 28. Nicole has won the challenge and is the new HOH. Having placed second, Derrick is the other HOH.
