Eventually giving in to his coaches wishes, Shane ended up nominating Frank as a replacement nominee in Big Brother 14 Episode 9.
As great an idea as it is for Britney to get rid of Frank, this is the problem with the players playing their coaches’ games. Shane’s not Britney. She could not be a physical threat who’s the biggest target in the house. Shane needs to keep the threats in the house, if for no other reason than it helps deflect some of the attention away from the fact that he keeps winning challenges. It didn’t hurt that he had a final two deal with Frank either. The only good news in this for him is that Janelle’s a lot less scary than Boogie is.
Danielle, who should have the deciding vote, thinks Frank’s nomination was great.
Ian is receiving a lesson how to play this game. It’s okay to lie, and Magic 8 Ball answers are a problem.
Wil is growing tired of Janelle because he believes she is taking all the credit for him still being in the game. Like Britney, she insists that taking out Frank is the right move because it removes a target (so that Wil becomes a bigger target). Granted, if it’s a choice between Frank and one of their own, the argument for his elimination does suddenly become compelling.
The next day, Janelle, who doesn’t cry during child birth or at funerals, tries some crocodile tears to get back in Wil’s good graces. He’s not buying it, but he can act along with her.
A common thread, Dan trusts Frank, but he does not trust Boogie. Their offer to him is to team up and make Janelle’s team the targets. He tells Danielle this is a more appealing prospect than being in the vote out Frank camp, and by the way, her showmance with Shane’s not going to last.
Shane tells Julie she should probably not expect any more kisses between him and Danielle.
Frank’s dad is Sid Vicious, who was a big WWF (not the wildlife fund) wrestler. They don’t really talk any more, though this show seems to be connecting them.
More important than whether Frank survives or not: America’s vote. It’s week 3, so it’s time to sink this season’s twist and bring the coaches into the game to stop being coaches. Doing it as a vote gives CBS the opportunity to blame the viewers. The coach twist made things interesting, but it’s time for the players to start playing rather than just doing as they’re told.
Unsurprisingly, America has decided that they want to offer the coaches the opportunity to enter the game as players. In the event that any one coach says yes, there will be no eviction tonight. If they all say no, tonight will proceed as planned, but instead evicted houseguests will be returning next week.
Britney agrees to enter the game. Boogie declines, but he’s back whether he wants to be or not. Dan accepts. Janelle does, too.
The big loser here is Shane. His HOH week in which he nominated not two but three people just went up in smoke. Meanwhile, his former coach who talked him into making those extra enemies escapes relatively unscathed.
The good news for Shane is that, due to the game being reset, he will be allowed to compete in this week’s HOH competition with all the other players. This week’s HOH competition is one of endurance, in which they must all hold on to a ship. Want to know who won HOH before Sunday’s show? Check out the BB14 Spoilers.
