Big Brother 14 Episode 8

Following the elimination of his last remaining teammate Jojo in Big Brother 14 Episode 7, the power once again shifted the other way, and Shane won HOH.

Now that Jojo’s gone, Shane can pursue his showmance with Danielle instead, and she promptly runs into his arms.

Having made a deal with Shane the previous week, Boogie and Frank feel comfortable with this shift in power.

Britney is drunk with power. The problem is that she only has one player who can only be HOH for one week. For this week, though, it does mean people playing nice. For example, Janelle’s team, who left Britney for dead a week or so ago.

As much as Britney and Dan want Shane to nominate Frank, he says that’s one thing he’s not willing to do, though he has no problem nominating Wil. Shane’s biggest issue is he’s the biggest target in the house, which will only get worse as he keeps winning everything. His hope now is to keep his word and see if that’s enough to keep him around a while longer. If it matters, he also has a final two deal with Danielle, though she has joined in the nominate Frank battle.

Chef Joe takes the butt kissing to a level Boogie has not seen before. He makes the HOH breakfast in bed.

The coaches competition is at the Big Brother gym. They’ll each have two minutes to do as many reps as possible. Each eliminated coach will open a locker and get what’s inside. Dan says he wants to win for a change. Boogie wins the first round, and Britney is out. Seeing as her only player is safe, she doesn’t mind. She must select two players to be on slop: Ian (who volunteers again) and Joe. Janelle takes the second round, eliminating Boogie. He wins $10,000 to share. He takes the $6,000 and (prompted by Frank) gives $3,000 to Ian and $1,000 to Jenn. In the final round, proving who has the most in shape tongue, Janelle easily beats Dan. He will be going to a sushi and cocktail party with the coaches, the HOH, and his sole remaining player. Smart choices.

As the winning coach, Janelle opts to save her team’s biggest target, Wil. That makes it a bit harder for Shane to justify keeping Frank safe.

In addition to slop, the have nots get Fruit Loops and salmon.

Britney continues to be very vocal about nominating one player from both Janelle’s team and Boogie’s team. I’m not clear what that gets him. The theory is that it will cause the two teams to target each other, but at the same time it just gives them more reason to nominate Shane next week, as if they need any.
