America’s Got Talent Season 6 Episode 25

Wild card acts West Springfield Dance, Kinetic King, Landon Swank, and Summerwind Skippers advanced in America’s Got Talent Season 6 Episode 24, rounding out the top 24. Tonight the semifinals begin.

Zuma Zuma once lost one of their members after he died from a fall during their performance. They do some fire limbo and climb on chairs (stacked and balanced on glasses) and each other. Piers thinks this is just what they’re looking for from a semifinal act. Sharon doesn’t think this was as good as the last time, and Howie agrees.

Beth Ann Robinson wants to prove that a solo dance act can win this. I don’t think it can, unless it’s part of a larger concept. But she’s very good nonetheless.

Sandou Russian Bar Trio was one of the better acts from early in the season, but they told us they do more than just Russian bar. Their act tonight is… singing. Wait. What’s the catch? She’s got an okay voice, but this wouldn’t have made it past the audition round. Piers buzzes, calling it the biggest suicide mission the show has ever seen. Howie wonders whether they were going for comedy there.

Singer Kevin Colis got through the Youtube round, but he’ll face much stiffer competition tonight. Piers buzzes, feeling the nerves. Sharon calls it sweet, nice, bland, and forgettable.

Matt Wilhelm made the Youtube night worthwhile, continuing the trend of the acts in the dark dominating. Aside from the stumble toward the end of the act, it’s still very good, complete with a story inspired by being bullied as a child. Piers’ concern is that he’d be bored with this after 15 minutes, so the trouble now is how to make it into a show.

Poplyfe is another okay singing act. Howie says they’re in it and are stars. Piers thinks this is going to be a huge band.

West Springfield Dance Team got axed in Youtube but came through in the wild card. Like Kevin, they’re really going to have to up their game if they hope to compete, although they’re lucky enough to have been here for three weeks in a row, giving them good exposure to the public. Still weird, but still good. Piers thought that was their best performance.

Melissa Villasenor is the impressionist who has to tell you the name of the person she’s impersonating. Sharon was impressed that she made Piers laugh.

Team iLuminate combines dance with software. Tonight’s performance is their interpretation of a fighting video game. Awesome. All three judges give a standing ovation. Howie just watched a million dollars.

Daniel Joseph Baker has decided to drop the fierceness tonight (thanks for that). Piers liked seeing his more serious side. Sharon wants everybody to vote for him.

Miami All Stars narrowly escaped in their last performance. They also get everybody on their feet. Sharon thought she was watching a movie. Piers calls that his favorite performance of the night.

The final act of the night is Lys Agnes. This is why the night’s first two singing acts didn’t cut it. Another one to get the judges standing. Piers was finally moved by her.

  1. Great review of the show! I’ve been watching the season from the beginning and have been very surprised at some of the acts. Poplyfe, iLuminate and West Springfield Dance Team are definitely my favorites and I for sure see them going further. It’s just going to be very hard to pick from them! Sandou Russian Bar Trio was also a favorite of mine until that last piano performance; it was hard to watch and I couldn’t believe they made the decision to go that way. I definitely don’t see them going any further which really is disappointing, they really did have talent! All in all I can’t wait to see who takes home the million and Vegas show and I’ll continue watching from my TV provider/employer DISH Network’s online site DISHOnline.com. I’m not home when the show airs so while I’m away on travels that website has definitely helped me in keeping up with the show. The best part of it all is that it’s free for everybody to watch as well so in case anybody missed a moment check it out here http://www.dishonline.com/shows/37652-americas_got_talent/videos/937906-week_13_night_2. 🙂
