Having been accused by Simon of sounding like she was giving birth the night before, Siobhan Magnus was sent home in American Idol Season 9 Episode 35. Tonight the top 5 perform the songs of Frank Sinatra with mentor Harry Connick, Jr. I’m a little scared.
Aaron Kelly
Song: Fly Me to the Moon
Randy: Really good job.
Ellen: Felt like you really pulled that off. Beautiful vocals.
Kara: Good. Not as strong as last week. You’ll be here again.
Simon: If Frank was a lion, you were just a mouse. But people like you because you try hard.
Casey James
Song: Blue Skies
Randy: Your worst performance. Pitchy until maybe the last note maybe.
Ellen: Very stiff.
Kara: Took a long time to warm up. At least you held some notes for longer than two seconds, but kinda sound like a lamb.
Simon: Not fantastic. Awkward.
Crystal Bowersox
Song: Summer Wind
Randy: Okay but a little sleepy.
Ellen: Wanted to see a little more. So many different sides and so impressive.
Kara: Kind of liked it. Liked your phrasing.
Simon: A little indulgent. First half was too jazzy. Second half got a lot better. Two okay weeks.
Michael Lynche
Song: The Way You Look Tonight
Randy: Mike is in it to win it.
Ellen: Seem to have the most comfort on stage. Looked and sounded the part.
Kara: Found the journey in the song and didn’t lose yourself.
Simon: All just clicked.
Lee DeWyze
Song: That’s Life
Randy: Stayed your rocker self.
Ellen: If this was the last night of performances, you would have just won this whole thing.
Kara: Go home tonight and write “I can win this thing” 100 times.
Simon: Harry brought out your personality and confidence. By far the best performance of the night.
