The Bachelor Season 14 Winner

Saying goodbye to Gia in The Bachelor Season 14 Episode 7, Jake narrowed his choices down to two women: Tenley Molzahn and Vienna Girardi.

Jake meets with his family and talk about the girls. His mom suggests maybe there’s something to how everybody hated Vienna. She’s already getting off to a bad start, and she hasn’t yet set foot in the house.

Never mind that for now. It’s Tenley’s turn first. She’s got good answers to their questions, enough to make everybody cry. His mom’s concern is that men can’t hold the family together, so it’s up to the daughter-in-laws to get along and handle conflict well. Jake will be asking one of them to marry him, whichever one that is. Jake’s father thinks he probably has met his future daughter-in-law.

Vienna’s up next. Although Jake was nervous about how he told his parents that the other girls hated her, he didn’t have to be. She’s willing to tell that story herself. She finds this all quite amusing. This is one of the more awkward family visits. Everybody is guarded and not particularly impressed. Obviously, his mom worries about her not getting along with girls, given her whole daughter-in-laws and glue theory. After they talk to her, though, they warm up to her, feeling guilty for having judged her so quickly.

Jake and Vienna head to a sulfur spring, where they hop in for a dip and some mud wrestling. When she eloped and got married for three weeks, she broke her dad’s heart, but she eventually realized that it was a stupid decision made by dumb kids. Now she’s really ready to give her heart to someone, and wants to do it with her dad’s blessing. She offers Jake her I’m not going to elope again promise ring as a sign she’s moving on.

Tenley’s date is on a yacht and going snorkeling. Unlike Vienna, who he’s concerned he may be too into for her looks and is not sure whether there’s something deeper there, Jake tells Tenley that he thinks their physical chemistry, whatever that may be, is lacking. Way to make her get all emotional on your last date, dude. He later says that it’s about honesty, whether it makes sense or not.

Tenley gets out of the first limo, er, helicopter. He loves her. But something just doesn’t feel right. She thanks Jake because it felt good to open her heart again. He didn’t feel comfortable being himself with her, instead feeling like he had to be a certain way.

So that means Vienna is The Bachelor 14 winner, or so we can assume. After scaring her by giving her the promise ring back, Jake gets down on one knee and proposes. Well, that oughta piss off some of the chicks who have been eliminated.
