People have been asking since the night The Bachelor 11 ended whether Matt and Shayne are still together, and it looks like we may be one step closer to an answer of no. Matt Grant, who has lived with his fiancee Shayne Lamas since the show ended, moved out of her condo recently. But he insists everything is still okay between them.
“I had to get my own life out here (in L.A.),” Matt told People. “Get my career and friends and have my own circle. That’s important in a relationship. That you are not entirely on top of someone.”
“Early on in the relationship, people need a little space,” says Grant. “It’s almost to keep the spark — the romance — that exists in the first year of a relationship. Living together after knowing one another after four months is probably a little bit quick. Certainly for our generation.”
Matt acknowledges that the relationship has been a “difficult time,” largely due to external forces, but when asked if he’s in love, his response is “Definitely. I wouldn’t be engaged if I wasn’t.”
