In episode 1, Jaime got into an accident and was turned into a bionic woman (didn’t see that one coming), and she then met up with her apparently evil counterpart Sarah Corvis.
Episode 2 starts in a cemetery, and at the funeral for her boyfriend Will, Jonas comes up to talk to Jaime. She doesn’t have any interest in talking to him and wants to pretend she’s just a normal person again. She then says she’s looking for Mr. right now and doesn’t have any trouble finding him, though she also doesn’t have any problem breaking his rib. Then Jonas shows up again. He tells her she could do something with her life and make a difference. He tells her his organization is saving the world and asks if she’s in or out. She says she’s out.
Becca gets caught smoking pot at school. The principal says it could lead to expulsion but also suggests taking away extracurricular activities, like the talent show. Jaime stands up for her and asks that they don’t take the talent show away, but it doesn’t take long before two of them are arguing.
Jaime meets up with her friends, who are discussing their future, which leads her to question hers, so she takes off. As she’s walking around, her powers kick in, allowing her to find and save a woman about to jump. After this, she decides she’s okay with saving the world, on her own terms. When she gets to Jonas, she realizes the guy who supposedly was a stranger giving her helpful advice in a store was actually someone sent there by Jonas intentionally. He tells her he wanted to find out of she was with another agency.
Then it’s time to train, with a repeat of the battle she had with Sarah (this time with Jay). He tells her about what her capabilities actually are. He says whether he’s in love with Sarah or not doesn’t matter because his first priority is the agency. Once the training session’s done, she offers to help investigate a small town under quarantine, where everyone’s dead. She’s not able to deal with this scene very well and has to go outside for some fresh air.
The deaths were caused by a toxin the agency developed. Upon further investigation, they go into a house and find someone still alive. They ask the girl if she remembers anything out of the ordinary, and she says there was a weird truck driving around. She’s surprised to find out the entire rest of the town is dead. A group of men with guns come up to her and Jaime pretending to be there to help. They start running, and the men shoot at them. While they’re hiding, Becca calls to say she’s moving back with her father. It’s then time for Jaime to take one of them out. Ruth Treadwell (Molly Price, Third Watch/Detective Faith Yokas), who brought Jaime there, comes in and says they have to get out of there. As they’re heading out, reinforcements arrive.
Jay goes to find Sarah, who says she thinks someone hacked her when she killed previously.
Following some interrogation, they track down the source of the problems, where they find out larger cities were the next targets. Armed with the knowledge of how many people they just saved, Jaime says she’s in. And she still has time to go see Becca in the talent show and tells her she’s never going to live with their father.
