Celebrity Gossip Queen and self proclaimed queen of all media, Perez Hilton, got into it with a photographer at an XBox 360 party at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery last night.

It turns out the photographer was from a celebrity photo agency known as X17. X17 is a photo agency that makes money by selling pictures of celebrities to the media. Up until quite recently the people at X17 allowed bloggers and sites to make use of their photos as long as their watermark was plainly visible on the photos. That, however, has changed. X17 Agency has elected to no longer allow any form free use of their photos, watermarked or not. They are now a pay for pictures only service.Most bloggers haven’t had issue with this decision and have stopped using X17’s pictures on their blogs. Perez Hilton, however, has not stopped making use of their photos, and one of their photographers didn’t appreciate having his photos on PerezHilton.com without getting paid. Its this X17 photographer that Perez Hilton ran into on the red carpet and got into it with.
Though I can understand where the guys at X17 come from when wanting to charge for their pictures, I do think they’re rather stupid for creating their own celebrity blog where they proceed to post the pictures anyways. I know that, if they have specifically request that pictures not be used by anyone, people should respect that, but its kind of hard to enforce something like that when you’re posting the pictures on your new blog for the world to see. The internet is anything but forgiving and if you pull a stunt like this, you have to expect people to use the photos anyways.
The best part of all this is; however, the fact that TMZ has a video of the entire scuffle on their site. It’s surprisingly intense considering Perez is usually a fairly flamboyant guy.
