Video: Kris Kristofferson’s “In The News”

I just found a music video and song that has been newly released by Kris Kristofferson entitled “In The News.” The song is, obviously, about all the bad things that have been in the news and happening in the world over the last few years.

The video for “In The News” was also featured on Neil Young‘s website and, being a protest song itself, fits in well with Neil’s most recent album, “Living With War”. It’s also currently sitting at #6 on the Living With War top 300 songs list.

I really liked the song, and the video goes with it very well. Give it a watch, I think it’s certainly worth the few minutes of your time.

Why I Hate Conservatives

I have never been a particular fan of Conservatives for obvious reasons, at least obvious to anyone that knows me, but what I just read only reenforces my stance on Conservatives.

I will, however, admit, that there are points of the Conservative platform that I do agree, however; all of these points are strictly concerning conservative views and opinions in a financial respect. When it comes to conservative views on morals and ethics, they are so far off the chart it’s bares comprehension.

Yesterday on Fox News (surprise), conservative radio host Mike Gallagher was debating with Fox panelist Michael Gross about whether or not racial, religious or ethnic profiling is the answer to the ever expanding “war on terror.”

Full Transcript:

GROSS: Don’t discriminate based upon race, creed, color, country of national origin.

GALLAGHER: Let’s have a Muslim-only line.

GROSS: What uniform you are wearing. What we want to do is look at behavior. We want to stop people who behave wrongly.

JERRICK: Michael, I think you missed a Mike Gallagher line there. What did you just say about different lines?

GALLAGHER: It’s time to have a Muslims check-point line in American airports and have Muslims be scrutinized. You better believe it. It’s time.

GROSS: Of course, your prejudice, which means to prejudge when you say Muslims or any people of any faith should be treated unequally because of their faith. You are absolutely wrong. Most Arabs are not Muslims. Most Muslims are not Arabs. You don’t have your facts straight. And Mr. Gallagher, how would you feel if we had a line for the Irish which English people were doing during the I.R.A. problems.

I just can’t believe that people are even able to think this way. The complete and utter lack of respect for another race simply based on ethnicity or religion is absurd! Just when I think some psychotic right wing conservative has said something so completely and utterly lacking any form of intelligence that it cannot possibly be topped, some senseless prick goes and tops it.

Somedays I just don’t want to be a part of this world when people like this can openly and freely exist, and even be praised for their thoughts.

Finally a Photo Gallery

dingoRUE Photo Gallery - Cemetery SeriesAfter searching for, downloading, installing, tweaking and uninstalling numerous photo gallery plugins for WordPress I finally found a keeper!

The plugin I decided to go with and have implemented is called ANIga Gallery by Michael Naab. It’s very simple, relatively easy to install, very easy to use and allows for some what easily tweaking. Of all the WordPress Plugins I have gone through, this is by far my favorite.

Anyways, it’s getting late, I’ve uploaded some of my photo’s to the photo gallery, have a lot more to go, but I’ll get to them tomorrow sometime. In the meantime, check out what I have got up and running and let me know what you think of my ANIga Photo Gallery.

G’Night All.

Quickie: dingoRUE Updates, Bodog Poker’s Jamie Gold and Hell’s Kitchen Finale

I’ve been working on dingoRUE quite a bit over the last few days, tweaking, adding plugins and generally tinkering with the coolness that is WordPress. So far I’ve added some plugins to help with spam security, cross-posting to my LiveJournal, linking blog entries to: Technorati, del.icio.us and digg, automatically generating a google sitemap with every site update or post and very forms of streaming and subscribing services. It’s pretty damn cool the amount of things you can do with WordPress. The only thing I am having issues with is finding a good photo gallery plugin, but I’m working on that.

Friday at work was fantastic. Bodog sponsored poker player Jamie Gold won the 2006 WSOP (World Series of Poker) and won the coinciding gold bracelet and $12million, must be nice. Of course, since Riptown is contracted by Bodog.com, we had a huge, impromptu party to celebrate. I was lucky enough to be a part of the team that got to go out and pick up all the beer, wine and scotch for the party, it was just like a kid in a candy shop. We had to get enough for roughly 150 – 200 people, so we ended up leaving the liqour store with 5 shopping carts full of alcohol in the first trip. On the second trip we came back with another 3 shopping carts full to the brim, it really was a beautiful site. On the downside I lost $10 playing poker with the guys. Oh Well, small price to pay. 😛

The Hell’s Kitchen finale is tomorrow night and I can’t wait! After the bullshit debaucle that saw Keith getting the axe and Virginia staying, I don’t have a great deal of faith in the show, however, I have to watch to be sure Virginia doesn’t win it. If she wins, there will be no doubt in my mind the show is rigged and she’s doing Chef Gordong Ramsey. She’s been terrible the entire show, has never done a good job on a service and consistantly screws up and does poorly, she doesn’t deserve to be in the final two at all and the fact that she is, is quite disappointing. So, hopefully Heather will win. Will have to wait and see.

That’s all for now folks, stay tooned.

R.I.P. Rock Gods

Was watching a show on Much More Music about Heavy Metal and all the influential bands that started the movement like Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath and I had to get on the ‘puter and put some Zeppelin on.

Zeppelin has been one of my favorite bands for years now and without a doubt is one of, if not, my favorite band ever. Robert Plant is an amazing vocalist and Jimmy Page is one of the best guitarists to have ever picked up a 6 string.

Why does it seem like a lot of the bands and music I love is all gone. All the bands I would like to see the most of any are all broken up, and not just for the ‘we don’t like eachother reason’, for the fact that a key part of the group is dead, like Zeppelin with Robert Plant. Sometimes I wish I would have been born 20 years earlier so I could have experienced some of the best music ever created first hand.

Groups I’d die to see and will never be able to: Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Black Sabbath, The Doors, Nirvana and numerous punk and post-punk bands that have since disbanded or died out.

R.I.P Jimi, Janis, Robert, Jim and Kurt, thanks for not sticking around, asshats.

dingoRUE Goes Live!

So here is the newest incarnation of my personal blog and photo gallery, welcome to dingoRUE.

The site is obviously just starting out right now as I just got everything setup on the server and I will be tweaking the theme, as well as adding and removing various things for quite sometime to come, I am sure.

dingoRUE is running off of WordPress, which, as far as I’ve seen so far, is pretty damn cool. The install process alone gives me a great deal of faith in WordPress as it was super quick and incredibly easy.

Of course, this site and the server it runs on and everything else that is cool is being so kindly provided to me by Sir. Awesome himself, also better known as Roto, and sometimes even Nate. Nate has been kind enough to give me some space on his server to host this flaming piece of… fantistic-ness, yeah, that’s it. So thank you very much Mr. Nate, it is greatly appreciated, as always.

So, once again, welcome to dingoRUE. Enjoy your stay, as short as it will be since there isn’t anything here yet. 🙂
