Hillary Clinton 1984 Video Ad

Posted by soultrance on Wednesday, March 21, 2007 at 6:00 am

Wow, I have been trying to keep politics out of dingoRUE for quite some time now, but I just couldn’t resist spreading the word about this one at least a little. Being a Canadian, a lot of America’s seem to think we don’t really know very much about US politics, when the actual fact is that Canadians generally know quite a bit about American politics, and in some cases, more than that of Canadian politics. Much like Canada gets most of it’s TV shows and reality TV shows from American networks, a great deal of the news is also American and even those news shows that aren’t American report heavily on American news.

So, getting back to my original point, it is damn near impossible to watch any form of television without at least learning something about the impending 2008 US Presidential elections and today I came across a really interesting video online. One of the hottest topics of the 2008 Presidential election is the competition between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, well, it looks like someone (though supposedly not a member of Obama’s campaign) put together and circulated an incredibly well done campaign video on YouTube. The video is a modified version of the world renowned Apple Computers Orwellian “1984″ ad featuring Hillary Clinton as the face of Big Brother. Anyways, I’ve spent enough time talking about it, watch it and see for yourself!

The Real Nancy Grace

Posted by soultrance on Tuesday, October 10, 2006 at 9:14 pm

It’s hard to believe this was actually a skit on Saturday Night Live, I didn’t know they knew how to do anything funny anymore. On the plus side, they managed to capture the crackpot Nancy Grace perfectly.

After you get done watching this one, check out a caller calling Nancy Grace a “big bitch” on live TV.

Dick “Scarface” Cheney

Posted by soultrance on Tuesday, October 3, 2006 at 6:22 pm

Don’t mess with Dick Cheney! This is one of the funner mash-ups I’ve come across lately. It’s Dick Cheney speaking at the Republican National Convention, only not.

The Blame Game

Posted by soultrance on Wednesday, September 27, 2006 at 8:44 am

In a post I made a day or two ago I featured a video of Bill Clinton vs Fox News, from Sunday’s Fox News airing. Well, without surprise at all, this entire thing has certainly snowballed quite a bit.

It started off with former President Bill Clinton calling out a Fox News reporter and essentially calling him a biased right-wing media whore, which I’d personally say is a fairly accurate description of generally anyone over at Fox News. Mr. Clinton’s comments were sharp and to the point, accusing Fox News of being one sided, not asking the same questions to both Democrats and Republicans and essentially calling BS on everything the Fox News reporter started off saying. Clinton also admitted to failing in finding Osama Bin Laden, but admitted the fact that at least they looked for him, which is more than can be said for President George W. Bush and his crew.

It was these comments inparticular that set off retaliatory jabs from Condoleezza Rice and George W. Bush. They both, of course, played the blame game and gave their usual reply of ‘nuh uh, nuh uh, nuh uh. We’re right and you’re not, so shut up poopy head,’ like any 4 year old in a sandbox would do. Both Rice and Bush said that they had done more to track down Osama Bin Laden than Clinton had done and that Billy Boy never took the threat of terrorist actions serious enough. Though, judging by the current state of affairs in the US and the general feeling of ‘Osama Who?’ running through the Republican government, I tend not to exactly agree with those points.

Now, since Georgie Boy and Condee got their shot to comment on the situation and accuse Clinton of doing a worse job than them, Senator Hillary Clinton has stepped up to defend her husband. How cool is that? For some reason this actually surprises me a little. Senator Clinton made some fairly pointed comments and did a great job defending her hubby. Good work guys! Maybe you should have teamed up a bit more when Billy was President if it works so well?

“I think my husband did a great job in demonstrating that Democrats are not going to take these attacks,” Mrs. Clinton said. “I’m certain that if my husband and his national security team had been shown a classified report entitled ‘Bin Laden Determined To Attack Inside the United States’ he would have taken it more seriously than history suggests it was taken by our current president and his national security team.”

Zing! This comment was made in regards to a document that was apparently presented to the Bush administration before 9/11 ever occured, which they promptly swept under the rug.

All I have to say is cheers to Hillary Clinton for standing behind her husband and cheers to Billy boy for have the steely ones to stand up to the right-wing media and cut them off at the neck.

Bill Clinton vs Fox News

Posted by soultrance on Monday, September 25, 2006 at 8:50 pm

I’ve always been a fan of former President Bill Clinton, the guy was one of the best Presidents in recent history for the US and he got booted for a little intern under the desk action. Personally, If I was a US citizen, I would rather have a president with an intern under his desk then one with Dick Cheney’s arm up his ass like a puppet.

Anyways, Bill Clinton was interviewed on the incredibly biased Fox News channel recently and caught the interviewer in his lies and trickery. Bill was super fiesty in this interview and by the time it ended he was red faced and breaking out in a sweat, I loved it. It’s certainly worth a watch, check it out:

What’s Afghanistan?

newsweek media bias

It never fails, mainstream media in the US is so incredibly biased sometimes it’s actually hard to believe.

This is a prime example. How is it that the cover of the most recent edition of Newsweek Magazine in Europe, Asia and Latin America features a front cover article on Losing Afghanistan, yet the US edition is surprisingly Afghanistan story free.

I guess a story about Annie Leibovitz is more important to the American people than what’s happening in Afghanistan? That must be it.

High Power Microwaves Tested On Protesters Before The Battlefield

Posted by soultrance on Friday, September 15, 2006 at 8:40 am

[Um… What? Sorry, did I read that right?]

Airforce Secretary Michael Wynne wants to see “non-lethal” weapons like microwave powered devices tested against American citizens (see also Anti-War Protesters) before they are used in the battlefield.

Domestic use would make it easier to avoid questions in the international community over any possible safety concerns, said Secretary Michael Wynne.
[Um… Yeah, who cares about the safety of dirty hippy protesters, as long as we don’t hurt the enemy. Riiiiiight, makes sense to me?]

”If we’re not willing to use it here against our fellow citizens, then we should not be willing to use it in a wartime situation,” said Wynne. ”(Because) if I hit somebody with a nonlethal weapon and they claim that it injured them in a way that was not intended, I think that I would be vilified in the world press.”
[Where as is you injured a protester no one but the protesters and sympathizers would care, and they don’t support the war anyways, so who cares about them. Great line of reasoning.]

[I love when government and military officials say stupid things like this. I guess ole’ Georgie boy has been able to get away with say things a hell of a lot worse, so why not everyone else, right? Oh well, it’s pretty safe to say the entire system is screwed anyhow, what difference is another crackpot wanting to make protesters into guinea pigs going to make, not much.]

Bush vs Powell vs Common Article 3

Posted by soultrance on Friday, September 15, 2006 at 8:28 am

You know the world is in a sad state of affairs when even Colin Powell is saying President George Bush is going to far.

Though the US Senate (I believe?) just recently passed a bill with the goal of further protecting prisoners of war and terrorists from cruel and unusual “interrogation” tactics, the good ole’ boy Mr. George Bush is trying to force a bill through that would achieve the complete opposite.

The bill which President Bush is trying to push through would see the rights of US interogators protected substantially more so then those of the people being interogated. Colin Powell stated that Bush’s proposed changes to the War Crimes Act would “liberalize the definition of what is torture” and would allow US interogators to use “hypothermia, threats of violence to the detainee and his family, stress positions, ‘long-time standing’, prolonged sleep deprivation, and possibly waterboarding” without any fear of being prosecuted at a later time.

Colin Powell made his thoughts on the matter quite clear and finally disagreed with how far President Bush is going, stating that “The world is beginning to doubt the moral basis of our fight against terrorism. To redefine Common Article 3 would add to those doubts. Furthermore, it would put our own troops at risk.”

I’m glad at least one person in that big white building and weird pentagon shaped building has finally managed to pull their head at least 1/4 of the way out of their ass. It’s things like this that make me utterly discusted with Bush. It really amazes me that he can even get away with trying to push things like this through, how absurd.

CNN Goofs Audio During Bush’s Katrina Address

Posted by soultrance on Tuesday, August 29, 2006 at 12:45 pm

Someone over at CNN is without a doubt getting fired for this one. It looks like the folks in the audio department made a bit of a mistake and the reporters voices could clearly be heard over top of Bush’s voice during the address. The reporters call Bush an “asshole” and say things like “I have to be protected by him! *snicker*” and “his wife is a total control freak”.

Someone at CNN totally screwed up here and just bought themselves a one way ticket to pick-slip and food stamps land.

Watch the CNN Goof Video now.

UPDATE: My bad, looks like I jumped the gun and did some misreading. Apparently the anchor wasn’t talking about Bush, but instead was talking about her familly.
