Nielsen Ratings for TV Shows Wednesday October 24, 2007

Fox easily won with the start of its World Series coverage. CBS did well, and even Kid Nation, which is still getting low ratings, saw a bounce to near its highest ratings of the season. Private Practice did well for ABC, and America’s Next Top Model continues its strong performance for The CW.

Fox took Tuesday night as usual with House. CBS got a strong performance out of NCIS, and ABC scored well with Dancing with the Stars. Cane continues to falter. After a bounce last week, Reaper has fallen again as well.

Fox won with the final game of the ALCS. The other big three did reasonably well, though CBS took a rare fourth thanks to the (now dead) Viva Laughlin. The CW was less invisible now that Online Nation’s gone, a good sign for Life Is Wild.

CBS won with good performances by all its shows. Women’s Murder Club retained most of its premiere audience for ABC. Deal or No Deal continues to drive NBC forward. Smackdown remains consistent for The CW. Whether American Band is the next American Idol was answered with a resounding no. Not that dumping it on Friday gave it much chance.

CBS won the night on the strength of NCIS. Fox was a close second with baseball. Dancing with the Stars did well as always but not enough to carry ABC’s lackluster sitcoms. NBC found out people care less about Matt Lauer than The Singing Bee. The CW ticked up nicely.
