Video: Apple Slings Monkey Poo At MS In New PC vs Mac Commercial

Posted by soultrance on Tuesday, February 6, 2007 at 3:00 pm

Apple hasn’t wasted a minute in getting their newest edition of the PC vs. Mac commercial series out, and might I add, just in time to coincide with the release of MS Vista. The newest commercial takes a stab at Vista new “security” features and I have to admit, of all the crappy PC vs. Mac commercials, this is one of the few I actually find amusing. The worlds “MS” and “security” should never go in the same sentence together. I have got to hand it to Apple on this one, they did a good job.

Apple: 3 New ‘I’m a Mac, I’m a PC’ Virals

Posted by soultrance on Monday, August 28, 2006 at 7:21 pm

Apple released 3 new Viral Marketing videos as a part of their “I’m a Mac” “I’m a PC” marketing campaign today. The new additions are “Accident”, “Angel/Devil” and “Trust Mac”. These things seem to be getting more and more popular and are floating around the net everywhere. I, personally, think they’re rather stupid in general, though a few of them have a couple some-what funny parts. They’re still worth a quick watch if you’ve never seen them before.

Apple Recalls 1.8 Million Laptop Batteries

Posted by soultrance on Thursday, August 24, 2006 at 12:40 pm

Hot on the heels of Dell Inc. recalling some 4.1 million lithium-ion batteries for overheating, causing burns and even bursting into flames, Apple announced today that they will also be recalling 1.8 million of their laptop batteries.

In both cases, Dell Inc. and Apple laptops both make use of Sony Corp. manufacturer power cells. How Interesting.

The Apple laptops directly affected by this recall are the iBook G4 and the Powerbook G4. So if you have one of these laptops, make sure you contact Apple about the recall, or you may end up burning a rather crucial part of your body.

Something also worth keeping in mind. The Sony batteries in question here are also being used by a number of other companies in their Laptops. Though I haven’t been able to find a definitive list of the batteries affected. I’ll update later on if I can find one.

UPDATE:

Japan’s Trade Ministry has ordered Sony Inc. and Dell Inc. to collectively investigate the issues and potential dangers of a few million of these faulty batteries. Go Japan!
