Following Monet’s obvious eviction in Big Brother 12 Episode 7, an endurance competition for HOH began.
Brendon says that the reason he didn’t vote to keep Monet is because the house didn’t want to. As if keeping her would have been the wise move anyway.
Then there’s Kathy, who did vote against the house. Her vote didn’t make a lot of sense to me.
Kathy is the first person to fall out of the HOH competition. She pretends this is strategy, rather than just the fact that she sucks. Lane falls off shortly after her. Kristen is the third person to fall. Then Hayden, who says he threw the competition, which is more believable than Kathy. The fifth and final person to avoid the have not fate for this week is Britney, who quits yet another competition rather than being a have not for the week, not that she was going to win anyway. Everybody who remains will be a have not unless they win HOH.
Enzo’s the first of those who remain to fall in, leaving only Matt for the Brigade. Brendon follows him, and Rachel is now thinking she made a mistake last week by targeting the two chicks who hate her guts. At this point, Ragan and Andrew make a deal with each other, both ignoring the fact that there’s a third competitor on the boards with them. Matt overhears this, but he’s not interested in dealing. Andrew is the next one to drop. That means he’ll have nothing to eat for the week because slop is not kosher. If you choose not to eat the food, don’t come on the show if it’s a problem. Ragan asks for the remainder of the house to go inside so that he can chat with Matt. During this time, they decide to just keep battling. As Ragan shivers, Matt looks as comfortable as he has the entire time up there. At 2 hours and 15 minutes, Ragan falls, and Matt is the new HOH. His allies are smart enough to not be jumping up and down.
Back inside, Rachel’s crying. Again and/or still. If she does get nominated, she deserves it for calling him out last week.
Britney decides to teach Enzo how to speak properly. Well then.
The letter Matt receives from his wife supports his claim that she has melorheostosis.
As much as the rest of his alliance wants to target Brendon & Rachel, Matt is seeking revenge on those who tried to vote him out last week.
Kristen and Hayden continue to sneak around and believe their relationship is still a secret. While Hayden’s in the other room with her, the rest of the Brigade talks about their relationship. Are they the lifelong friends? For that matter, are they cousins? Whatever the case, they’re hopeful he’ll remain loyal to them rather than her.
Every time Andrew walks into a room, he interrupts Brendon and Rachel doing stuff. Not that this is difficult because they’re always doing something.
America’s choice is for what additional foods the have nots get. Baby food and bok choy. They got screwed. Fish sticks and fruitcake was much better. Then again, I don’t know, maybe baby food tastes good. Regardless, Andrew’s happy because it’s kosher.
Matt proposes to keep Brendon and Rachel safe in return for not putting him up next week. She doesn’t know if she can trust him. Based on the house meeting she called last week, it doesn’t seem he can trust her either.
Looking for a pawn, Matt wants Andrew to go up on the block. The obvious choice that the whole house would be happy with is to target Brendon and/or Rachel, but he doesn’t want to go the obvious route.

Kristen is safe.
Hayden is safe.
Enzo is safe.
Lane is safe.
Britney is safe.
Rachel is safe.
Brendon is safe.
Kathy and Andrew have been nominated for eviction. He once again protests too much claiming he doesn’t have any alliances. Kathy doesn’t get what seems like a revenge nomination. It’s not as if she’s a big threat, whether she voted for him or not. Andrew doesn’t get this stupid plan. Enzo wonders what the heck Matt is thinking and if he has a backdoor plan.
